Uncle Tetsu's Japanese Cheesecake, Vaughan Mills — Restaurant in Vaughan

First of all, We have been a great fan of uncle tetsu’s cheesecakes. This review is only based on the service and quality of the Vaughan Mills location. We use to go to yorkdale location and the taste and quality are always top notch. Yesterday (Aug 15th 2022) we have ordered a bunch of items (regular cheesecake, a box of tarts and a box of MADELEINES) from the menu. The cashier told me there is a 15 minute wait time for the MADELEINES. After waiting for like 15+ minutes I saw a worker taking the MADELEINES out of the oven and taking it inside. The cashier told me that that batch gone wrong so she offered to refund what I paid. I told her don’t worry about it and just give me a Matcha cheesecake instead. she made me pay $2 difference . After wasting 15 minutes of my time, they could have just made the experience better by waiving the difference. This is a good example for a poor customer service. Now let me talk about the quality and the taste. The tarts were not cooked thoroughly. Inside the tart the uncooked batter was runny. Like I have mentioned I have been a regular to uncle tetsu’s and I can totally tell the difference. The regular cheesecake was also under cooked. Ironically the matcha one was over cooked to the point that it was so dry. The workers at this location definitely need a proper training on customer service and on cooking. We are regular customer for Uncle Tetsu's cheesecakes. However, this review specifically assesses the service and quality encountered at the Vaughan Mills location.

While we had consistently enjoyed the taste and quality at the Yorkdale location, our experience with the chocolate cheesecake purchased for Valentine's Day at Vaughan Mills was disappointing. It was inadequately baked, and when I contacted customer service, they suggested returning it, only to find it was bitter. Upon attempting to return it to the store, the staff refused to accept it.

Although I've enjoyed their cheesecakes many times before, this particular experience was unsatisfactory. I would not recommend this specific store.

Don’t recommend this location. Received a refrigerated day old yuzu cake which staff did not want to exchange nor give us a fresh and warm cake.

The staff are saying that the yuzu doesn’t taste good warm and they must prepare it 1-2 days prior and it has to be eaten cold.

But if you look closer at the packaging of the box it clearly states best way to enjoy is by heating up in their microwave 30-60 seconds 🤦🏻‍♀️

I’ve tried other yuzu cakes at other Uncle Tetsu locations and they were all ways warm and freshly made on the same day..

Anyways I encourage other customers to check their cakes before purchasing. Especially If they are looking to enjoy...
