Boardwalk Burgers - Victoria — Restaurant in Victoria

I only ever order from here via Uber, but my most recent order compelled me to leave a review.

I normally order their crispy chicken burger combo. When I do, I add a note to the order asking for some mustard since normally they only have ketchup packets. Today I was feeling particularly stressed and overworked and ended up missing lunch and dinner, so I ordered from them twice (I know, not a healthy pattern).

The first time they forgot to add the mustard. I wasn’t upset, I suspected they might be busy.

But the second time they not only made sure to add the mustard, but someone working there apparently remembered the first order and wrote me a note apologizing. Picture attached.

That is something I appreciate, which is why I’m leaving five stars for my review.

It happened again! This time a drink was forgotten in an order I made the day before I left his update.

I ordered again today, and not only did it have a drink…it had another apology note!

Went there with my partner and a friend. I had the spicy chicken burger combo with a poutine. The chicken patty was crispy and it was slightly larger than the bun, just as I like it. Unfortunately, if it wasn’t for the spicy sauce the burger would’ve been bland. The poutine was okay. Gravy had a slight tang to it that doesn’t appeal to me and there could’ve been more cheese curds. My partner had the BBQ bacon burger combo with onion rings. He felt there was too much bbq sauce on his burger making it a bit sloppy. We both agreed that the onion rings were crisp but flavourless. Our friend had the mushroom Swiss burger combo. He said the burger patty needed more seasoning. The fries were crispy. Service was friendly and prompt. Atmosphere and decor was clean but basic. Overall it wasn’t bad as I’ve had worse but I’ve also had better. It was worth a try as it’s the new burger place in town. I think we will stick to our usual...

I'm not sure a 3 is warranted but a 4 isn't either.

I had a bacon cheeseburger with jalapeno cheese fries.

Burger: it's a bit more expensive than burger chains but it tastes like it's better quality. My knock is the complete lack of seasoning. I put 2 packs of salt on and it was still bland. The bacon didn't do much for it either. Bread was good though. Meat tastes like it has no fillers.

Jalapeno cheese fries: What a disappointment. The cheese sauce was also flavorless and to be honest weird. Jalapenos were plentiful but had no heat whatsoever. The fries themselves weren't very crispy but they're passable. Ask for well done if it's an option. Stick with ketchup. Other signatures may be better but I'm not sure I want to...
