Murchie's Fine Tea & Coffee - Hillside — Restaurant in Victoria

This morning I had the best cappuccino I’ve had in a long time, thanks to barista Willem, and to Bella for the teas. Strong coffee, with just the right amount of frothy milk.

If you’re from these parts, you’ll be familiar with the name of Murchie’s, which is synonymous with high-quality coffees and teas.

The Government Street location in downtown Victoria has been around for decades, while this location at the Hillside mall is newer, much smaller, but still offers a great selection of coffee, tea, cups, mugs, and all things both “Murchie’s-style” and Victoria-style itself.

The store is bright and well-laid out, with an attractive store-front in the mall. Plan to spend a good 10 to 15 minutes there browsing all of the merchandise and leave with a great coffee or tea in hand. Directly outside the Murchie’s doors are tables and chairs to enjoy your refreshments.

Went in looking for espresso, couldn’t exactly find it so I asked where the espresso would be, then the worker proceeded to tell me WHAT I was looking for and completely failed to tell me WHERE the product would be. Very unfriendly service today. I came in because i regularly buy tea at Murchies and wanted to buy some of a new Yuzu Grey. When i asked about it the staff member was very unfriendly and curt. Then i asked the price and he looked at the bottom of the sample and said $50/lb. I thought that was very high and later saw online the price is actually $36.95/lb.
