My family has been ordering from this location for 20yrs plus. Tonight was the worst and most disgusting pasta dish I have ever received from romeos. The last pizza I ordered was not very good ethier the toppings just fall right off and the pizza was soggy and wet undercooked. Or the pizza comes overcooked and burnt. Ordered the baked fettuccine alfredo tonight which was literally a bowl of whipping cream with no taste. The cream was not reduced at all it was just a bowl of warm cream with no taste. Gross. You have reduce the cream for fettuccine Alferdo cooking 101. The garlic toast is actually very offensive in smell and in the taste it used to be good and tasted like actual Garlic.I can't put taste buds on it what romeos is using now for the garlic spread but its is absolutely disgusting now!Doesn't taste like garlic or butter but a very odd spice spread. The last garlic bread came raw the garlic spread was not melted the bread didnt go in the oven at all! I have noticed the food go very downhill here and it's a hit or miss when ordering from romeos now. Mostly unfortunately it's always a big miss the food is sub par at best.I miss the old Romeos they used to be good, but now I would not recommend to anyone ordering food from here. Also, the 5 dollar delivery charge plus you have to tip the driver as well is a little over the top. It's basically an extra $10-$15 dollars in delivery fees other fees and taxes. If you use the online ordering system platform they charge you an extra fee to just order from them and use this platform, plus the delivery fee still, plus the delivery driver tip, plus those little extra fee's are then taxed on top of that! Look closely at all the fine prints on the bills especially the online platform. The food apps fees are actually cheaper than all of Romeos extras fees to order delivery. When you actually look at all those little add on extras and then ask for tip it feels like a massive rip off. Romeos used to be my famlies favorite but now after 20 plus years of going there and ordering delivery I think we are done now. It hurts to end this relationship Romeos as its been many, many, years together but the food your serving us now is not edible it's undercooked or overcooked and burnt and or tasteless. It's a Goodbye from us local regulars of 20yrs. Goodbye Romeos it's...
Read moreManager at HILLSIDE location has bad manners, refused refund on an item which was supposed to be lamb but was a mix of lamb and beef. My daughter is allergic to beef, when I asked for a refund of an item that was not absolutely touched and even still on the wrap, the only response I got is that it is me who is at fault for not being accountable and ensuring there was no beef on an item that was sold to us as “lamb”. While It is true I did not read the menu and ingredients as I was in a rush, all I know is that I asked and ordered a lamb wrap and no one explained it that it was a beef/lamb mix processed meat. Client’s aren’t supposed to be experts on the menu but employees are. I lost $45 between paying for the dish and a generous tip, given in good spirit as I always do to servers and employees. As my daughter’s allergy is not severe I usually don’t check on items sold as lamb, or chicken or fish etc. To top it up they attempted to make me keep the wrap because there was some lamb in it, as an ingredient and the manager implied that it was me who had to take responsibility for buying this item. The rudeness and refusal to even considering a refund really showed me that this restaurant is not about service, they are not interested in the people that make their make business possible or their own reputation. As far as I can tell ROMEOS lost a solid customer who has been coming to the restaurant for the last 10 years. Maybe a family of 5 once a month is not a big deal for the manager, this business seems to be busy regardless. Just Hope other customers never get treated with such disdain. Hillside manager Please keep my $45, I gladly spend this money as a learning experience about who you really are as a company and...
Read moreWe've been loyal Romeo's Hillside customers for many years with probably 10 to 15 visits per year. I went online to Romeo's website to see what we might want to order that would fit our budget when we arrived at the restaurant tonight and we were very annoyed to see that Romeo's has chosen to remove the prices from their dining in menu? After spending 10 minutes looking for a dine in menu with prices, I called the restaurant to get some help in locating a dine in menu with prices. I was told that I could ask them for the price of any dish but I could also come in to look at the prices! Who has time to drive to a restaurant just to see the prices and start asking for the price of a number of dishes we were interested in? What is Romeo's trying to hide because it gives the impression that their prices must be too high to put on their website? There's a lot of good restaurants in Victoria and now I am not so sure that I want to support a restaurant that has to hide their prices from their website! Shame on you Romeo's management! Please wake up to the fact that this is 2020 and transparency and customer convenience is important rather than blocking such important online information. If you are still putting prices on the take-out menu, why are you not doing the same for the...
