The restaurant has good taste for paneer makhni and I always ordered only this dish from here, but the restaurant has started to resort to fraudulent methods now it seems. Their dine-in price for paneer makhni is 18$ and tandoori roti is $3. Their take out menu has a price of $15 and $2 for the same things. When I ordered a take out they charged me $18+$3 by showing me the restaurant menu. When I questioned them that take out price is $15+$2, they said take out menu has old price and they have updated their price in 2023. However, when I check on delivery apps like Uber Eats, it has price of tandoori roti as $2. They don't have paneer makhni on Uber eats, but price of other items on Uber eats is the same as their take out menu. Also, as I notice now, the bill they gave me has a table number as well. How can my take out order has a table number? Looks a clear case of cheating to me. This was my final order ever from this restaurant. Not eating here again.
In response to the restaurant's revert, here is the additional info The paneer curry was ordered without looking at the menu as it was my regular order and I did not need to look at the menu. Menu was only seen to decide the type of bread I wanted. Hope the restaurant remembers. When I asked for the take out menu after ordering and waiting for the food bag, I was given the take out menu but NO disclaimer was provided to me stating that the prices were old. I am sorry but it is your responsibility to inform your customers about it if you hand them an old menu or don't hand on old menu at all. After the bill was generated, I asked for a copy of it because the bill was higher than usual. When I questioned the price of items as it was not a dine-in order but a take out order, only then I was told that the prices on take out menu were old. This should have been informed at step #2 above. This qualifies as hiding (or not caring enough) the information from customers because many restaurants have a different dine-in price and different take out price for the same dish and it could have been the same situation in this case. Before writing the review, I ensured the prices on delivery sites matched that of your take out menu. I ensured that on UberEats, which you confirmed as well. However, it is not my job to check every delivery website. Updating info on websites is restaurant's responsibility. Raising prices is not a bad thing with rising input costs but not being upfront with the...
Read moreGood food, HORRENDOUS CUSTOMER SERVICE. Will not be dealing with this restaurant EVER again. I placed a catering order two weeks ago and paid for it by phone to be delivered to a company that we do business with. I was told by the "manager" who took the call and the order that I would receive a receipt that evening. Approximately two weeks later I still had not received my receipt. I called the restaurant back to confirm that they still had the order ready for the catering job and to say that I had still not received my receipt. Whoever it was that answered the phone said they would contact the manager and ensure that my receipt was sent. By the next morning, I still had not received my receipt, so I called a THIRD time and spoke to the manager and again said that I had not received my receipt. I got some bs story that he had sent it to me, but now it was "missing" (?). I said, "then go to your sent items, and resend the email - it's that simple". His response was that he couldn't even locate it in drafts (seemed rehearsed like he's said it before) and that he would hand-write a receipt and email it to me. Six hours later, I still do not have a receipt, so I called a FOURTH time. This time, he apologized, saying that "lunch was busy" ... (I called at 5:30, so I have no idea what a busy lunch has to do with me still not getting me receipt). I demanded that he send me a receipt immediately. He said he would. 30 mins later - STILL NO RECEIPT. I called the restaurant AGAIN and spoke to him AGAIN. Lots of dancing around why he hand't sent it, then claiming he had "thrown out the receipt" with my info on it. SERIOUSLY?! After refusing to get off the phone until it was in my inbox, I finally got the BOGUS RECEIPT. The amount on the receipt was $50 higher than what we had agreed on, and the number of people in the catering order was higher than I had agreed to. Obviously, this guy is completely inept at running a business. You throw out receipts, and you run a business??? STAY AWAY! ...
Read moreFor the price we paid, the taste and quality were not justifiable.
The service has always been very good and they are courteous and well managed. They were out of cloth napkins/tea towels when we asked for some, the ones that were free were for tables they had already set, which was kind of off putting as we had to use a lot of paper napkins every now and then. I hope they have enough of those things in future with the nature of Indian food that's gravy, curries, oil and spices.
I may be a stickler for good quality and value for money and I found the 3-4 buffet items were well spiced but not well seasoned, meaning it was missing the right amount of salt and seasoning and the reasoning that i can add salt on the table is futile as the ingredients like chana and paneer or the meat will still taste bland only the gravy will get the salt. The chicken in a few dishes had that old chicken taste, i cant explain what and how but how cooking an unthawed chicken taste feels like(as i said taking care of small things will go a long way). Traditionally any boneless meats should be pre-cooked/seared and then added to the gravy(All indian restaurants in the city are to be blamed for this, they dont care may be and mostly people are used to have that for ever) adding it direclty doesnt do any good(this way is good for stews and soups), if you want chicken soft and juicy then sear high and then add to the gravy and slow cook. Mutton meat was good, but the gravy lacked the cooking(bhunai).
My earlier visits here have been good, they had a lil bit more variety in pickles and appetizers et al, and which i am ok with reducing the variety, but not reducing in taste.
A few gravies were really good, only if the meat complimented it, it would have been great.
The naans were included in our buffet and those were fresh and nice. We had a chai and that was good too.
I always wish them the best and just hope...
