My recent dining experience at P.F. Chang's Parque Arauco was a mix of delightful flavors and disappointing service, leaving me with mixed feelings about the restaurant. While the food was exceptional, the behavior of our waiter, Jesus, significantly marred what could have been a perfect afternoon.
We were initially drawn to the restaurant by a tempting 40% promotion poster displayed at the entrance. Upon entering, we were greeted by a pleasant hostess who seated us promptly. The ambiance was lively and bustling, reflecting the restaurant's popularity, and we were excited to enjoy our meal. Our waiter, Jesus, arrived a few minutes later to take our drink orders. However, this was the beginning of what would become a frustrating service experience.
After placing our drink orders, Jesus disappeared for quite some time before returning with our drinks. At that point, we placed our food order, which consisted of the Beef with Broccoli and the Honey Chicken. Both dishes arrived hot and were absolutely delicious. The Beef with Broccoli was tender and flavorful, while the Honey Chicken struck the perfect balance of sweet and savory. The quality of the food was truly outstanding, and we thoroughly enjoyed every bite.
However, the service we received from Jesus was far from satisfactory. After delivering our drinks and taking our food order, we never saw him again until he appeared to hand us the bill. This lack of engagement and attentiveness was disappointing, especially given the high standards we expect from a restaurant like P.F. Chang's.
The most frustrating part of the afternoon came when Jesus presented the bill. He initially input the total amount into the credit card machine, including a 10% tip. When I informed him that I did not wish to include the tip, he adjusted the amount but then proceeded to select the 10% tip option on the card machine anyway. This behavior felt not only unethical but also disrespectful. While 10% may not seem like a significant amount, it is the principle of the matter. Jesus did not provide exceptional service—in fact, he was largely absent throughout our meal—and his actions left a sour taste in what should have been a pleasant dining experience.
To be clear, the food at P.F. Chang's Parque Arauco is exceptional, and the lively atmosphere adds to the overall appeal of the restaurant. However, the service we received from Jesus was a major letdown. His lack of attentiveness and the unethical handling of the bill overshadowed what could have been a wonderful afternoon. I hope the management takes note of this incident and addresses it appropriately, as it detracts from the otherwise high-quality experience P.F. Chang's aims to provide.
In summary, while I highly recommend the food, I would caution diners to be mindful of their service experience, especially if Jesus happens to be their waiter. A great meal deserves great service, and unfortunately, that was not what we received on...
Read moreThis is a review of the service, not of the food. The food is pretty good. Unfortunately, it's hard to enjoy when the service is as bad as it is.
During a 1h30m lunch we had the following happen: Bad smell in the seating area. Poorly kept bathroom. 40 minute wait for our food. We asked for more to drink to our waiter. Then we asked another. Then another. Then the wrong drinks were brought. We asked for the 3 sauces/condiments that they usually bring to every table. We had to ask 3 times for them. First they brought them to the table next to us. They were having coffee. They finally brought them roughly 15 minutes after our food was served. We had to ask for the check/bill 2 times.
Keep in mind that there were at least 8 waiters going around talking and checking their cellphones instead of providing any sort of service to us or other tables.
Overall I'd say it was one of the worst service experiences I've ever...
Read more¡EL PEOR RESTAURANTE!
