Great coffee but chaotic service and some unfriendly staff. We ate here twice before and after the W trek. First time was fine and we noticed there were several people with all of their large backpacks and luggage stored in the corner inside while eating or not even eating and just hanging around. The second time we went we were eating there before our bus and so brought our backpacks with us and this caused huge issues and drama with the staff that was so unnecessary. Firstly they wouldn’t let us store them inside and wanted us to leave them in the garden, I said I didn’t want them to get wet in the rain as it had started but they insisted with several members of staff coming over and causing such an issue, one kept asking me if I understood as if I was an idiot. We left them outside and just as suspected, it started raining more halfway through our meal and we had to get up and move them to a inside storage room - which they could have offered us the first time - causing yet more hassle. As soon as we finished a plate or coffee, they came over and grabbed it from us and kept asking if we wanted anything else. There was no one else waiting for a table but we felt very unwelcome so gave the table back and paid and asked if we could store our bags for another hour instead of carrying them around the town or taking up a table while we waited with them. They told us no as they couldn’t be responsible for the bags… despite them sitting in a huge storage room out of the way. Such bad and unfriendly customer service and it ruined our morning. They also asked a guy on his own who had just finished eating and opened a laptop that he wasn’t allowed use it there. The portions are tiny and overpriced and they aren’t friendly to backpackers so head to one of the nicer and more affordable spots if you have any luggage whatsoever or are on a budget - it’s only worth it...
Read moreAwfully arrogant barista. I am really sad I walked into this cafe as the experience really isn't worth it. I ordered a "coffee and gelato milkshake" but the barista forgot to add the coffee in. When I pointed it out, the barista put the milkshake back in the mixer again with coffee, then served me a watery, overly mixed milkshake that had no texture. When I complained that it tastes awful, the barista arrogantly claimed that I complained too late as I had already drunk some of it. She had a very mean, disrespectful, ugly facial expression on her face that says "oh, aren't you trying to get a free drink?" which made me feel very unpleasant to a point of injustice has been done to me.
I got infuriated at her due to her facial expression and words, and claimed how deceptive she is to reuse the original milkshake to mix it with coffee, faking it, only to serve a disqualified coffee milkshake. I repeatedly asked her why she didn't create a new one in the first place but the barista ignored and never answered my question.
The barista is a very unjust person and put the burden of quality control on the customer's part in addition to all kinds of rude words and facial expressions. She has no rights to put a customer go through all these and in my opinion, needs...
Read moreNice coffee house with good coffee, great brunch food and a fun shared sitting concept (you get to share your table with people you don't yet know). There are also lots of options for vegans, with milk substitutes (like almond milk for cappuccinos). We found the coffee to be nice, but without much of a "kick" (a light roast, with no acidity, but very, very little complexity, as well). Great attention to the customers, though, with the owner being on site and coming to ask you if everything is of your liking and gladly accepting any kind of constructive criticism (we mentioned the flat white and cappuccino both having almost no foam (frothed milk). The omelette is made to order and you can pick three ingredients (besides eggs) like cheese, tomatoes, peppers, onion and so on and it is delicious. The ambience is very warm, with plenty of natural wood and the place gets busy regularly, as it is very popular for tourist, thanks to its central location, a ton of good reviews and being one of the few places that specifically caters to...
