Korean Restaurant Sukine — Restaurant in Recoleta

We have been coming to Sukine for 9 years and we love it. It's cheap, it's delicious, and the old man there always treats our kids like his own grandkids. The guy who takes your money at the end is his son, I think, and is nowhere near as charming, but whatevs.

Highly recommend the pajeon, extra crispy. The bulgogi is a family favorite, and we can't go longer than three months (maximum) without CRAVING the kimchichigue. It is hands down the best kimchichigue in Santiago. Not all Korean restaurants have it, because it's very much Korean home cooking, not high end food, but if you have never tried it before, and you like kimchi and the flavors of Korean food, then you're missing out. The hot bibimbap is always good and we love love love their kimchi!! We also devour the panjan that come with the meal and they have no problems with us asking for refills.

Quise darle una segunda oportunidad a este restaurante, después de haber ido en una primera instancia en la cual pase un momento desagradable (excesivo tiempo de espera para un plato “entrada” y pésima atención por parte del personal de servicio, cancele orden, pague bebidas y nos retiramos, año 2014) La situación no cambió mucho esta vez (19/07/2021)Dos meseros para más de 20 mesas, sin distanciamiento social entre mesas, ambiente deplorable, local no cuenta con buena ventilación, el servicio por parte del mesero que nos atendió parecía “molestarle” el que le pidiera “más productos para consumir”. Pedimos solo “media orden” de un plato (Bulgogi) nos llego el plato “entero”... lastimosamente nos toco carne con exceso de grasa y cebollín, el sabor no era tan intenso al Bulgogi que suelo comer en otros restaurantes tradicionales Sur Coreanos. También pedimos un plato que A D O R O en la cocina tradicional Sur Coreana YUKGAEJANG que es una sopa muy picante y sabrosa! En este caso era para nada sabrosa, casi no tenia carne, exceso de cebollín y para que mencionar al característico GOSARI pues este tenia 3 hebras nada mas! No nos ofrecieron la típica fruta o café de cortesía... Te entregan los contenedores para que guardes lo que vas a llevar... Debo mencionar que solo el arroz y el Banchan estaban acorde a sus característicos sabores y presentaciones. One of the best meals I've had in Chile! The hot bibimbap was fantastic (they also offer it cold, for a cheaper price). It came with a starter bowl of egg drop soup, and several dishes of banchan (literally, "side dishes"), including kimchi, rolled omelet, bean sprouts, and what I think was pickled papaya.
