The food is good but expensive, the meds is very small and the service is horrible. I stayed in Valparaiso 5 days and came to this restaurant everyday. Each time the service was worse and worse. I have a lot of food restrictions and after backpacking for a Month I had been constantly sick from the food. I was originally happy when I found this restaurant because they offer more than your typical Chilean restaurant which is just bread products and cheese or other dairy products. I have celiacs and I’m lactose intolerant. The last time I came to the restaurant the doors were open so I walked in to sit down and instead of being greeted was told the restaurant was not open and asked to leave. I told them their website said they open at 12:30pm (it was 12:26). He said well we are not open. So i asked okay when do you open and the owner or manager (I’m not sure which he was) rudely said “the restaurant is open when I open the doors.” I wanted to say more like well your doors are open and this is not the Politest way to greet a customer maybe work on your customer service but I just walked out instead. This same guy had seen me there everyday before so it’s not like they didn’t recognize me. It made me feel extremely unwelcome. I had waited all morning to come there to eat my breakfast so it was very discouraging. I won’t be recommending this...
Read moreGreat location and cool building. Reception could be a bit more helpful, possibly give some local tips like in other places, rather than just ‘hi’. The bathroom was a bit tired looking and the bed very squeaky. Unfortunately there was a plague of termites on our first evening. After an initial clean up that we did, we eventually had to get up on the night and get help from reception with bug spray (most helpful). We then needed to have the window closed and had to ask for a fan as there’s no a/c or way of ventilating the room without the window open. But it would have been better if reception had told us it was happening to make sure windows were shut and so on. We ended up with a room full of dead termites and shed wings which was pretty disgusting. Lastly, on check out the woman who took payment was extremely unfriendly, no smile, no ‘I hope you had a good stay, have a good day, thank you for staying with us’ which left a sour taste in the mouth. these things are so easy to remedy by just paying a bit more attention to details and making more...
Read moreMonday 7pm. Service was decent but not amazing. After my food arrived, my waiter did not come by to check how the food was or if I needed anything such a something more to drink. Meal had potential but was average. I ordered the fillet medium rare, which should be a little bit bloody, but it was over cooked to medium. I ate it none the less because I was quite hungry at this point and as I was seated outside I was getting quite cold. It was a decent cut and had good flavor though. The accompaniment of potato's and garnishings were flavored with a creamy white sauce that was well balanced. Regarding the service, I did eat rather quickly since I did not wish to linger in the cold. I didn't waste any time getting up to get my check and paying directly at the cash register. They did provide blankets if you know to ask for them, but really they should invest in outdoor heat lamps. All in all it was an average experience for an above average price. Perhaps you will have slightly better luck with better weather, better service and a...
