Hope the owner sees this review. Been coming here since pre-covid and probably not anymore. Visited around 2pm on a Saturday. Ordered two drinks and two food and waited almost an hour for fries without any explanation. The rest came out in time, so I waited. Half an hour later, I asked how long it would take to a part-timer and he said it’s coming. Another half hour passed and I asked for a refund as I had to leave. And he just said “We are busy” and then proceeded to do his thing. Was stunt by his attitude as I asked very politely and calmly. A matter of fact, there was only a couple of tables when I ordered. And then he refused to talk after saying that though I was just standing there. All I said is that I hope he understands as I waited for an hour without any explanation and now I need to leave. After a while he said he’ll give me a take away box, not responding to refund. And then went back to kitchen from the counter mid-convo. Explained the situation to the other part-timer and then he explained that there has been an accident. I understand shit happens as I myself cook as well. But giving no explanation and refusing to even explain when asked is unacceptable. Can’t understand how a man can be that irresponsible and rude. Feel sorry for the other part timer who had to explain to us and apologise. The poor guy doesn’t owe us anything.
Again, I understand cafes can be busy and things can happen in the kitchen. But walking away mid conversation is just pure disrespect man to man regardless of the situation.
For the owner of common ground, if you are keen enough to care, you can ask the part-timer or check out the cctv yourself. Or I’m more than happy to share my experience...
Read moreAwful experience. I think customers over here can get the feeling why this place is full of sadness, disappointment, and frustration. I had been here waiting for my food for an hour !!! I think it's a standard for all cafes or even restaurants to deliver the food from order to table within 15 minutes or else you should give all customers a heads up before they order so they can simply walk away but not get trapped here. There were only 5 customers in this place during Saturday lunch . Quite frankly, it's not busy at all to the level that I can fairly say this place is dead. 4 guys work in a cafe, but no one is delivering anything. I had been sitting outside and waiting for my linguine, I saw the guy with beard had no idea what he's doing in the kitchen. We both shared the confusion of the situation at this point. While witnessing next door kept sending out food, drinks , and plates by plates for like 50 customers by just 1 or 2 staffs in the whole shop. I heard all customers over here all complaining about the food quality and how long they had been waiting. And I get a plate of overcooked , flavorless, pale pasta with...
Read moreAlthough it is located on the slope, it managed to arrange some outdoor seatings outside the cafe. Be careful because it is slightly inclined. There is also another cafe next to this cafe so there is several people socialising and bringing their dogs with them. We ordered 2 breakfasts and latte. Avocado toast is quite popular but it is not that surprising. The toast is ok and the avocado is soft. Then there is an onsen egg, feta cheese crumbs and salty egg crumbs. The crumbs are not that fantastic and surprising. The egg benedict is more outstanding. The English muffin is not dry at all and the onsen eggs are perfectly runny. The best part is the smoked and slightly grilled smoked salmon and Hollandaise sauce. The smoked hint of flavour makes it less greasy. The latte is more fruity with citrus and rose flavour, but it is pretty small and the milk...
