18+ Restaurant in Central? Introducing you Lung Fu Pao! It was a Tuesday night and we craved for some Japanese food. We came across with this Japanese fusion restaurant so we thought it would be a good idea to check it out. The restaurant wasn't very big. They have a long bar with chairs and some tables in front of the bar. We were seated at the bar and it was our pleasure to see how the chef prepare the sushi and our food. At the time when we visited Lung Fu Pao, they were having a set promotion for two. However, I think that ordering a la carte could let us enjoy the food we really desire so we didn't order the set. The decoration of the place was quite cool and definitely worth looking into. Lung Fu Pao actually is the name of a magazine with adult contents, hence the theme of the restaurant echos with it. You can see a lot of adult contents around the place.
We ordered their signature roll and it was huge. It was a salmon roll with a lot of fillings in it, topped with an avocado flower. The roll itself was served with a sauce so we didn't really need to dip into soy sauce before eating it.
The grilled squid was not really worth it in my opinion. The portion was smaller than we expected and the taste was average.
The slow-cooked ox tongue however, really really surprised us. It was extremely tender and the taste was excellent. We would really love to order another dish, but oh well, enough is enough, better not let the second one ruin the taste.
Overall dining experience was great and I would recommend...
Read moreThe food quality was genuinely good with nice flavors and presentation, but the service needed significant improvement.
We booked a dinner set for two that was supposed to include salmon, but upon arrival were told the salmon was unavailable. What was confusing was being asked to choose a replacement only from vegetable options, which didn't seem equivalent to the salmon we were missing. We had to specifically request non-vegetable alternatives, which they eventually accommodated. Throughout our meal, we felt rushed by staff who approached our table approximately every 5 minutes asking to clear our plates, even when we were clearly still eating and not waiting for additional dishes. This constant interruption made the dining experience quite rushed.
The persistent plate-clearing attempts ultimately led us to leave less than an hour into our dinner, which was disappointing as we had looked forward to a relaxed evening out.
While I can recommend the food quality, I hope management addresses the service issues, particularly around dish substitutions and giving diners appropriate space to enjoy their meal without feeling hurried...
Read moreWarning: Some of the staff and their friends can be super creepy. The food, as others have said was a pretty decent version of the westernized Japanese fair you'd expect outside of Japan. What you definitely wouldn't expect is one of the staff's friends drinking at the bar staring at your date all night making her feel super uncomfortable. Nor would you expect that later when the staff member and his friend leave for the night, they pick the moment when you're in the bathroom to approach your date, bum a ciggarette off her and ask if she wants to come to the bar around the corner with them. As you might expect, the fact this could all go down in the company of a staff member leaves you feeling somewhat disheartened, especially when you just spent 1500 HKD in the joint. But you take comfort in the fact that you're getting laid tonight while those guys are around the corner in a wine bar trying and failing to pick...
