Pandan Thai Cafe — Restaurant in Hong Kong Island

We went there for dinner, and while the food was tasty, the service left much to be desired.

I chose the Thai soup Tom Yum with noodles and pork (no. 118 in the menu) while my friend ordered Tom Yum with a side of BROWN rice and Thai milk iced tea. My friend was served white rice instead but didn’t want to create a fuss about that. When my soup arrived, I, not being familiar with Thai cuisine, thought it was what I had ordered. Just the size looked a bit small. However, when the bill came, I realised that I was served the wrong Tom Yum (apparently they have several ??) (no 207 instead of my 118) that is why I didn’t have noodles in my soup and the portion was little.

The waitress began to make excuses, claiming that it was my mistake for not HIGHLIGHTING the noodles, which is funny because I pointed on my no 118 dish in the menu, not 207 when the bill came up. It’s really hard to mismatch and should have been obvious. In the end, they blamed that on us by returning a few coins difference. I’m so upset I was served different a different meal, and apart from that the staff also yelled at me.

We left with very negative impressions of the service, and we have no desire to return to...

The food was good, or maybe we were just super hungry. However, the floor staff was an absolute downer. She responded rudely when asked a simple question, and honestly I don’t even think she wants customers to dine in by the way she frowned upon our arrival. Do you not want more sales for the day? Not entirely sure, but she might’ve talked negatively about our table to another staff in her native language. Perhaps she was tired or she just does not enjoy her job. I too used to work in F&B and have never outright shown such rude and ugly behaviour towards customers, no matter how bad my shift/day was! Hope she finds her passion else where if she dislikes customer...

5-star is granted for the food. They are yummy 😋

Prawn and pomelo salad is fresh Mango sticky rice also great And the noodle also impressive.

Big note in here: don’t mind the server, and you will be able to eat peacefully. There is strange requirement which is not written anywhere in the restaurant. The server said that each person should put an order. So if you come in 2, both person should say their order. If it is only one of you speak, they will consider only 1...
