I did not know about Thai Smile, but we visited its successor, Bangkok Express for dinner and found the food quality fair, the portion was quite generous, and even some Thai people visited there too. One of the highlights in Bangkok Express was their Tomyumkung - the soup had a rich body and a balanced mix of hot and sour. Unlike other Thai restaurants, the lemon grass in this soup was less truncklike. The sauce for bbq port neck was a bit too sweet but was still decent. Rice with minced pork and basil was good, and the chicken satays topped with baked coconut shreds were interesting to try.

Good and affordable Thai food. Servers are friendly, too. The place is a decent size but gets busy at lunch and early evening, so be sure to arrive around 2pm for the lunch or around 8:30pm for the dinner if you want want it to be packed. The lunch menu is very cheap for the quality of the food and we’ve made the most of it countless times. Portion sizes are very generous. Would recommend the pineapple fried rice.

The restaurant is replaced by another owner. The size is smaller and the food don't taste Thai anymore. The amount of food is way too less. The beef fried rice with shrimp head oil has no flavor. Very less amount of rice and bits of beef for $60. It tastes even worse than local restaurants.

My go to place to eat affordable Thai food. Their lunch set is good, flavor wise and taste wise. You can pay 51 hkd for all the food in the menu with good portion and drinks, except for chicken rice and pork knuckle rice, which is priced at 54 hkd. It's also vegetarian friendly. Their curry can be made without any meat, the Noodle dishes also could be made vegetarian so I would recommend thai smile for a nice...
