Probably this is the tott at the moment and with a lot of hype. Since i have to book this literally like 2 months ahead, i’ll be much more critical with my critique and no doubt high expectation.
The environment is nice, i like the graffiti decor and the overall vibe. FOH is attentive but i guess it’s basic. So we have a dinning limit of 2 hrs, that’s understandable with such a popular restaurant.
Here is what i have to say with the food, in general it’s just average. Nothing unforgettable or surprising to me, i enjoyed the food but i don’t think they live up to all the praises, at least not for my palate.
Here is my brief comment on each plate:
Bread basket: Nice! Warm and crispy crust, nice pairing with the flavoured butter.
Carbonara: Signature item, it’s definitely a less guilty version without the pasta. It’s creamy and nice layers of flavours with egg yolk at the bottom.
Hamachi: Portion is a bit small with only 4 small slices of fish. I find it a bit too salty, the flavour is interesting with the smoked artichoke but i think it’s not my cup of tea.
Calamari: Just average. I like the batter which is seasoned nicely. I think the calamari itself is a bit too soft and the end product is a bit too greasy.
Meatballs (pork): It’s very soft, nearly melts in your mouth but unfortunately it’s not a mouthfeel i prefer. The texture reminds me of the Shanghainese meatball.
Uni pasta: Probably the best of the night. A bit spicy yet not overpowering the richness of the uni, i like it. Pasta is al dente and i like how the sauce is not too thick and creamy, it’s delightful.
Yellow chicken: Another signature but it’s a disappointment to me. The chicken is lukewarm, i don’t particularly like the gravy because it doesn’t really add value to the dish and the meat of the chicken is a bit too soft, not juicy nor tender as i’d like. I have high expectation for this dish but overall it’s so so.
Dessert: Both gelato lacks flavour, the hazelnut one is a bit too sweet while i have had better pistachio gelato than this. Tiramisu is what it is supposed to be but nothing special.
As said, everything is OK. For this price, i expect better. Will i come back again? if they change the menu and if it’s not that difficult to book, maybe. Food is a very personal thing, nonetheless i’m glad that i give this...

Luckily, it’s easier to book now, though I still had to reserve a few days in advance. I snagged the first dinner slot at 6:00 PM, but the rush to return the table by 7:45 PM wasn’t ideal—it left little time for conversation or relaxing with friends. That said, the food was great, and I might return… if I’m in the mood for a quick, delicious meal!
Focaccia This focaccia is a dream! Soft and tender inside, with a perfectly crispy crust. The homemade butter is the cherry on top. So ‘QQ’—I could eat this all day! Rate:⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Hamachi Carpaccio (HKD 158) Not your usual hamachi carpaccio. The smoky aroma from the smoked artichoke dressing, paired with cucumber and lemon, made it fresh and refreshing. A delightful twist! Rate:⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Cannolo di Tonno (HKD 118) Tuna tartare stuffed in a crunchy cannolo shell—crispy and tasty! But at HKD 118 for one, it felt a bit pricey. Still, a fun and flavorful bite. Rate :⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Carbonara Egg (HKD 38 each) Mini carbonara with egg yolk cream, pecorino, and guanciale? Yes, please! Rich, creamy, and absolutely delicious. A must-try! Rate :⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Gnocchetti (HKD 218) Sicilian red prawns, basil, and mandarin oil sounded amazing, but the mandarin oil didn’t quite elevate the dish as I’d hoped. Still, it was nice—just not mind-blowing. Rate :⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Sea Urchin Spaghetti (HKD 238) Creamy, slightly spicy, and packed with flavor. The sea urchin and garlic combo was a winner. I’d order this again in a heartbeat! Rate :⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Yellow Chicken (HKD 288 for half) Tender and braised to perfection, but without the crispy skin I love. The intense chicken jus and vegetables were nice, but in a city full of amazing yellow chicken, this didn’t stand out. Rate :⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Conclusion A solid dining experience with some standout dishes (hello, focaccia and sea urchin spaghetti!). Would I return? Maybe—if I’m looking for a quick, tasty dinner. Just don’t expect a...
Read moreIt’s a bit of a mixed bag——food was nice not wow, the service was great and attentive but some seating options were not what you’d expect of a fine-dining restaurant at this price range. I think there’s a line between cozy and feeling crammed: as for our experience, we had to sit at a small table right next to the cashier. We didn’t request for a specific table so it was fine, but again, not what you’d expect of a restaurant of this caliber. Had to wait a bit for the table to be ready but it was acceptable.
Food wise, one of the highlights was unexpectedly the seaweed-anchovy butter for the complimentary bread, which was complex and tasty. The carbonara egg didn’t disappoint in terms of taste and presentation, it’s an interesting and creative dish. The dessert was the best of everything. If you are ever here, do try their mille feuille, it was really tasty and well balanced with puff pastry taken to the edge and a rich chocolate ganache and smooth hazelnut gelato, worth coming back for.
Other things were ok, mellow. Not overwhelmingly impressive. (Wanted to give 3.5 stars for food but Google doesn’t allow half stars.) The focaccia was similar if not the same as the complimentary bread, I expected a bit of an upgrade. Its toppings were ok, the piped ricotta was a bit too chalky. I wouldn’t order the extra focaccia, just the complimentary one would do. The meatballs were too salty and felt overpriced. The ricotta spinach tortelli had generous stuffing but was otherwise just your normal tortelli, and the sauce was too salty. The yellow chicken was ok, caramelized nicely enough but mushrooms were too strong and didn’t complement the dish, which was already a very heavy dish with a thick jus.
I think they’re going for a hearty, homy vibe, the atmosphere is nice and the portions are generous, but food was just OK overall, bit of a hit or miss. That said, thanks for the warm service and complimentary gelato (pistachio, tasty and very smooth as well) and polaroid for our birthday celebration. That was...
