Winstons Coffee - Tai Hang — Restaurant in Hong Kong Island

I recently visited Winston’s Coffee, and what should have been a pleasant experience turned into an absolute nightmare. I initially inquired about the carrot cake, and the staff casually mentioned it was made on Tuesday, which felt dismissive and unhelpful. Hoping for better, I ordered an avocado toast, but what I received instead was a disaster disguised as an “avocado sandwich.”

The sandwich was horrifying: mushed, rotten avocado pieces, burnt cheese, and two cold slices of bread slapped together. The taste was off-putting, and the ketchup provided was industrial-grade (like Heinz), adding no quality to the meal. After a few bites, I realised just how stale and unfit for consumption it was.

When I complained to the staff, their response was shockingly unprofessional. The man at the counter smirked as he refunded me $75, showing zero remorse or accountability for the horrendous food they served.

Since consuming that sandwich, I’ve experienced stomach pain and nausea, and I haven’t been able to eat anything else. If my condition worsens, I will be seeing a doctor and filing an official complaint with the local authorities. Thankfully, I have all the necessary photos and videos of this appalling experience to support my case.

This place is a health hazard and lacks basic customer care. I strongly advise others to avoid Winston’s Coffee for their own safety...

Stumbled upon Winstons Coffee in Tai Hang and it turned out to be one of the highlights of my trip. The cozy corner café has a cool, laid-back vibe with both locals and expats enjoying their morning brews. The outdoor seating is perfect for people-watching and soaking in the charm of the neighborhood.

We ordered a flat white and a latte—both came with stunning latte art and a rich, velvety texture that coffee lovers will appreciate. The banana bread was moist and flavorful, while the toasted sandwich was simple yet satisfying. Everything was served on stylish, patterned plates that added a nice touch to the overall experience.

After playing tennis in Victoria Park, I wanted to find a place to rest and relax. However, there weren't many cafes near the park, so I walked to Tai Hang. It was a hot summer day, and I was sweating by the time I arrived at Winstons Coffee. This cafe was famous for its Australian style cafe. I ordered an ice long black (one of the signatures of Australian cafe) which had a balanced coffee flavor with a smooth texture.

The cafe's decor was new and trendy, but the seats were not very comfortable. The store was semi-indoor, which make it quite hot despite the air conditioning is on. The price was a bit expensive ( a long black costing $37). However, the cafe had a pleasant and relaxed atmosphere, which was perfect place for hanging out with friends on the weekend and enjoying the holiday vibe.
