What an unpleasant and disappointing experience!!

It was a Friday night at around 8pm. The 2 of us went to Kome Kushi as walk-in customers after looking at the menu outside.

We ordered a salmon sashimi rice, soufflé eel rice and a few skewers…

The salmon sashimi rice arrived within 15mins which was pretty average .. so we were waiting patiently hoping the soufflé eel rice would taste a bit better… another 25mins have passed …only to find that they have given our soufflé eel rice to the table next to us (who arrived 20mins after us but have ordered a bottle of sake instead of tea)

We have asked the staff to check our order a couple of times but they didn’t even bother checking with the kitchen and just replied with Oh! Soufflé does take time! Oh wells… not for the table next to us!! Why did they get all the food promptly and we had to wait for extremely long period of time just because we didn’t order drinks?! Even the take away soufflé eel rice people got their order before us despite the fact that they came half an hour after we sat down!

Skewers were ok .. staff service was pretty average .. they didn’t really care if we got our food or not ..

There are so many choices around SYP.. Personally I don’t think I want to go...

Unfortunately very slow service for warm dishes. The Sashimi rice came out quickly, but even after finishing this, the skewers had not arrived. The other main never came despite asking the kitchen to check several times. This was over an hour after ordering. The table next to us who sat down after us had a completely different experience: everything arrived promptly for them ( including skewers, and the same main we ordered) is this the experience of a table who orders a bottle of saké? The atmosphere was nice overall, Seating comfortable, crockery decent. In terms of what we ate, these were average. Service staff tried hard to apologise to us and the other tables who waited a long time as well, though they are understaffed as well. I wouldn't go back unless the kitchen shapes up more.

I also wonder how they got so many 5 star reviews but now realise these are all from people with less than 10 reviews or...

I went to the restaurant for the first time cuz just nearby my place. So I decided to have lunch with family and enjoy the Saturday afternoon. Food is ok and bit pricey and I don’t think we will go back again. Staff was friendly even got little bit misunderstood with our order. What makes me disappointed is we are still eating our food and they’re asking us to pay the bill right away, I felt like they are kicking us out from...
