I recently had the pleasure of dining at Flat Iron (Newly opened Wan Chai branch), a fantastic new addition to the city’s culinary scene, conveniently located right by the tram in Wan Chai—you can’t miss it! While Flat Iron already has a few beloved branches elsewhere in Hong Kong (Central), this new location brings the same exceptional quality and friendly atmosphere to a different neighborhood.
From the moment I stepped inside, I was welcomed by the exceptionally friendly owner and staff. Their genuine warmth and attentiveness made me feel right at home, and they truly go the extra mile to ensure every guest has a great experience.
The restaurant boasts a modern yet simple ambiance, eschewing unnecessary frills to focus on what truly matters: the food. And let me tell you, the food is nothing short of spectacular. I opted for the filet (tenderloin) topped with pan-seared foie gras, served alongside black garlic mashed potatoes, roasted broccolini and carrots, all drizzled with a rich red wine sauce. Each bite was a revelation—the steak was perfectly tender, the foie gras added a luxurious depth of flavor, and the sides complemented the main dish beautifully.

I requested a larger table due to the size of my order (650g of tenderloin and several sides), but was given a cramped corner seat. When the food arrived and space became an issue, I asked again to move — especially since there were still empty tables available — but was still made to stay in the same tight spot.
There wasn’t enough room on the table, and instead of offering a proper solution, the server removed the complimentary water bottle to make space — and never bothered to refill or replace it afterward. When the mac and cheese was served, I was even offered to have my steak moved into a smaller bowl just to fit everything, which felt ridiculous given the portion I had ordered.

Indeed, please delete the picture that ur staff using his own phone on 3 of us as it violates the privacy of us without any consent given, rather we just offered to shoot us using our own phone for birthday celebration.
