Just hopped in for a quick beer, but turns out to be a disastrous night due to the extremely poor hygiene and terrible attitude. Context is I’ve always been extremely scared of cockroaches, and while we were drinking I saw a giant flying one crawling on the wall, and it was immediately ruining my night, I couldn’t wait to finish my beer and get out asap. Turns out the guys next table told us they had already switch the table once because there was another dead cockroach (a giant one too) under our table, and he said the staffs even told him they crawl out from the door inside the store instead of crawling from the street. Long story short the flying cockroach managed to alert everyone in the store and all the customers were very aware and concerned about it, so the staffs finally came and killed it. *the worst part is, afterwards, one of the staffs (it’s a lady) came to me and said “the insect is small, it won’t bite you”, as if it is my fault for not appreciating a restaurant with cockroaches flying and crawling around when really they should at least try to keep the floor clean… at least pay more effort on the area...
Read moreHave enjoyed a handful of visits to Hoppy Junction this year. This is a neat place for an afternoon pint of local handcraft beers of which they carry a fair number on tap and by te bottle. The pub is located at Johnston Rd. just before the intersection with Hennessy Rd. in Wanchai. Opening hours are around 2pm until late (daily).
At Hoppy Junction what you will find mostly handcraft beers from Hong Kong which have sprung up around the territory mostly in the past 5-10 years, making this a neat place to support for local beer drinkers. I'm a fan of the Citibrew Gentleman's Stout. This stout is malty with coffee and chocolate flavour. It is a pretty good stout, something fans of dark beer will enjoy.
Note, they have a Hoppy Hour promotion from 3-8pm for many of the local...
Read moreTheir menus are clipped together with a dangerously sharp clip. Unfortunately I cut myself on their menus, to which the waitress blankly looked at me and my bloody finger and said they did not have any plasters on site.
Food is straight from the freezer. The worst onion rings I've ever tried, so bad that they are actually doughy. The menu says the onion rings comes with tartar sauce but they only gave a sweet sauce with no explanation for the replacement of sauce.
Service is 0 because their wait staff are no where to be found. I had to look around for them 3 times to make an order.
No wonder this bar is quiet as heck. They give 0 care to food and...
