We were looking for somewhere for dinner after work and found this ramen bar hidden in the wet market. Interior decoration was pretty ramen-bar-like with high ceilings, making one feel comfortable.
There were a number of ramen options, and even rice bowls. There were options to choose the type of ramen, hardness of ramen, taste of soup base etc. Very accommodative indeed! You can top up by $15 for soup dumplings or small salad and 1 can of drink for any ramen or rice.
As it was so hot, we both went for cold noodles. One of them was their June limited edition.
六月限定蟹肉甜蝦涼麵 at $98 There were three sashimi prawns which were so sweet and fresh together with some crab meat and crab roes. The crispy crab roes added texture to the ramen. The ramen were of those thin and super al dente type which I really liked. It had strong egg flavour. The soy sauce as the soup base was slightly sweet and was great for this hot weather. There were also three slices of lemon, some seaweed, some sliced onions, green bean sprouts and also half a soft boiled egg as toppings of this ramen. I would highly recommend this to those who need a lighter option rather than traditional ramen! Healthy and yummy!
Another cold ramen we ordered was one of their dipping noodles and we chose cold rather than hot ramen.
特濃味噌廣島蠔冷沾麵 Extra Miso Hiroshima Oyster Tsukemen at $108 There were three oysters topped by some white sesame. They were not small and were quite tender. The ramen was of those thick and al dente type which I really liked! Other toppings included half a soft boiled egg, some crispy sliced bamboos and 木耳, onions and lots of spring onion and a slice of seaweed. The soup was boiling when served and was pretty tasty yet not overly salty. After finishing the ramen, we could ask for refilling the soup which could then be finished on its own. It was quite tasty and rich in fish flavour. It was not oily at all. The ramen after dipping into the soup was quite tasty too.
There were some spicy pickled bean sprouts in a small jar on the table at your own service and they were appropriately spicy which were so tasty. Apart from the ramen, we also ordered two snacks to share.
汁煮牛舌 Braised Beef Tongue at $32 The braised beef tongue cubes were very very tender and rich in beef flavour. The sauce, which was slightly sweet, was pretty delicious and not overly salty. There were also some diced carrots and radish topped by some spring onion and some white sesame. The server said this dish was very yummy and indeed!
炸雞 at $38 There were four big pieces of fried chicken coming with mayo and fresh cabbages. The fried chicken had super crusty batter and very juicy and tender flesh. Very evil. They were not super burning but hot enough. It seemed quite a good value for money with 4 big pieces at just $38.
The overall quality of the food was quite good. For those who love al dente ramen like me, this ramen bar should be the place for you to try. I was especially impressed by their...

Read moreWent to this ramen resto nearby my office with my colleague. . She ordered King Seasame Tonkutsu Ramen, while I got Red Samurai Spicy Ramen.
The Red Samurai Spicy Ramen had four levels of spiciness, and I chose the third level. The two pieces of pork were chewy, and the ramen came with quite a lot of veggie and fungus.
We also ordered Japanese Style Dumplings to share. With mayonnaise sauce on top, the dumplings looked delicate and attractive. Its interior was filled with sauce, making it juicy to have. . Located at a small street, it may not be that easy to find. We were lucky enough that there weren't that many ppl when we arrived. Not too expensive for the price of a regular ramen. ///////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// Revisited this ramen resto in Wan Chai with my colleagues. . I ordered the Golden Samurai Tonkotsu Ramen this time. I selected kakuni for the pork, which was tender and meaty, and chose thin noodles with a harder texture. Not a big fan of the cabbage in it, and the soup base tasted a bit plain. Luckily the soft-boiled egg had a nice runny yolk.
One of my colleagues ordered the Sakura Shrimp Miso Ramen. I didn't try it, but she mentioned that the soup base was not as rich as she expected. . The varieties of ramen and tsukemen offered are...
