Shake Shack arrived in Hong Kong a couple years back. There are now 6 branches around the city including this restaurant in the Ocean Terminal section of the Harbour City shopping complex in Tsim Sha Tsui. Opening hours are 11am to 10pm daily.
This is a classic Shake Shack, order at the counter, take your pager and find a table. Wait for your pager to ring, get your tray of food and drinks at the pick-up counter, return to your table and enjoy. The menu is the same as our other Shake Shacks in Hong Kong. Seating area clean, tidy and modern. Service is pretty fast, especially right now while restaurants have to limit the number of customers they can cater to during the Covid-19 outbreak.
During a recent lunch at this Shake Shack, I had a very good SmokeShack, beef patty was well grilled and tasted as expected. Toppings of bacon, a generous portion of chopped cherry peppers and cheese, created a slightly spicy and vibrantly flavoured burger. Importantly, the bun wasn't soggy from the beef's natural juice. It was a very good burger, similar in quality to Shake Shacks in Sha Tin and Admiralty that I've eat at in recent months. Fries were also well made, crunchy with light salting, not greasy. They tasted just fine.
Overall, I was pleased with the service and tasty burger meal at the Harbour City Shake Shack in TST. Will happily eat here again in the future when in the area and looking for a place...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreFirst, I would have to say that the stand and wait for your own table arrangement is very bad. It reminds me of McDonald's where you would have to do the same embarrassing act next to someone you don't know. It does not feel good to those who are eating or those who are waiting. I would suggest only let people dine in when there is available seats. And I think people don't mind waiting outside and a ticket on hand.
For the food, I enjoyed most of the food I had there (except for the milk shake, too dense for me). The serving size is not large, so if you get a single burger with fries and drink, you probably won't feel as full as you had a meal in Mcdonalds. (as the burger is quite small). However, they all taste much better than that in McDonald's.
I would recommend people who want grab a bite and not trying to sit and chill there, it is impossible to do so with people standing and waiting...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreHave lunch here on Sunday at around 1pm. We are lucky to find an empty seat near the window straight away. There are people not so lucky coming incessantly, scattered throughout the aisel. So be prepared to feel a little bit of pressure to eat faster if you are sensitive people š But the view otside of the window is definitely worth the wait. I am not really a burger person, so no much comment on the burger (I ordered Chicken n Shack). Feel the taste is normal, and the chicken is the dry kind. Like the milk tea milkshake anyway. The way they used to blend milk and ice is quite different from the other stores which makes the milkshake...
