TANGRAM inside AKI hotel offers an unparalleled dining experience. The attentive service sets the tone, with live shows from the bartenders who come to your table with a trolley to mix up perfectly crafted cocktails and drinks.
The menu features an impressive selection of classic French dishes, each showcasing the restaurant's commitment to quality ingredients and expert preparation. We started with a refreshing Caesar salad, crisp gem lettuce tossed with bacon and Parmesan, as well as the traditional beef tartare, which was seasoned to perfection. The Burgundy snails in garlic butter and the grilled octopus with lemon, garlic, and smoked paprika were both standout starters.
For the main course, the French onion soup was a comforting and flavorful delight. The whole Boston lobster with casarecce pasta and a rich lobster sauce was a decadent treat, while the French yellow chicken with morels, asparagus, and rice was a beautifully executed dish. The South France red label lamb shoulder with Provençal tian and rosemary jus was tender and packed with robust flavors, and the pork rack from Spain, served with pickles, French beans, and potato mousseline, was a delightful combination of textures and tastes.
Dessert was a true highlight, with the lemon, white chocolate, and vanilla sponge cake providing a refreshing end to the meal, and the 72% dark chocolate mousse satisfying the sweet tooth.
Overall, TANGTRAM is a must-visit for anyone seeking an authentic and delightful French dining experience. The combination of impeccable service, exceptional food, and lively entertainment makes it a true gem in the city's culinary landscape.

After settling in, I enjoyed dinner, followed by lunch the next day. Both meals started with warm slices of sourdough bread and their delicious compound butter—I shamelessly finished all the bread myself!
For dinner, I ordered the Grilled Beef Tenderloin cooked medium from the à la carte menu, along with a side of asparagus and a glass of red wine. The beef was incredibly tender with a buttery flavor that paired perfectly with the onion puree and dijon mustard. The pickled onions and baby carrots didn’t stand a chance! I did struggle a bit to cut the beef into smaller pieces—could be my utensil skills or simply my own lack of skill. Still, this dinner was a perfect balance for someone who wasn’t overly hungry; I inhaled my plate in no time! Overall, it was an elevated experience that left me feeling satisfied and comforted.
The next day, I woke up late and checked out at the last minute before heading back to Tangram for lunch. This time, I was seated on the left side, which was super quiet—just me and a couple finishing up nearby. The timing worked out perfectly, letting me enjoy my lunch in peace.
I ordered the seasonal lunch set, and even though the online menu wasn’t updated during my stay, I was excited to try the roasted pumpkin with sundried tomatoes and feta cheese. It was a simple yet delightful starter that blended beautifully. For the main course, I chose perfectly pan-fried sea bream and white wine pairing, but since it wasn’t available, it was substituted with a Viognier 2022. It was chilled to perfection and had a refreshing, crisp taste that matched well. To wrap up the meal, I indulged in a slice of pear almond cream tart alongside a warm cappuccino with a thick layer of foam.
Every meal felt like its own little story, giving me time to reflect and savor the experience. I truly had a pleasant...
Read moreThey have updated their menu recently and included more variety of cuisines. It’s not the closest to the MTR station, around 10 min walk from the closest exit. The hotel is pretty nice and new. The atmosphere of the restaurant is quite relaxing. It was fun to see them preparing our food at the open kitchen.
Service was great, very attentive and polite staff.
Surprised to find out that they have a free flow sake menu for happy hour now. it’s pretty budget. Their happy hour is 5-8pm. We placed our order at 7:45, yet they still allow us to enjoy our sake free flow. Love their flexibility and hospitality.
The free flow starts with 5 small glasses of all the sake choices. They will give u a small bottle of the sake you like after choosing. Free to change to another choice anytime. We joined the $98 free flow choice, 2 out of the 5 taste pretty nice to me.
Was going there cause I was attracted by their aki bowl. There are only two kinds of aki bowl choices now, one is duck leg and the other one is lobster. We are allergic to shellfish and therefore went for the duck leg one. It’s pretty nice n refreshing. Duck leg is a bit heavy on the seasoning and a little salty, but somehow complimenting pretty well with the soba.
Sashimi was fresh n great. Taste nice with the yuzu sauce it comes with. Highly recommended the octopus and the amberjack.
Apple crumble is pretty nice too though a little basic.
Most of the dishes are larger than expected, got...
