SUMMARY We thouroughly enjoyed eating at this restaurant. All the food was excellent and the host was very friendly. I highly recommended 'Thai Somtum' for tasty authentic Thai food!!

MORE DETAIL The location is hard to find if you are not familiar with the area. The restaurant is two floors up from street level and is accessed through a local market selling fresh vegetable etc. Don't be put off by the location or the appearance. Try it! All the food we ordered was excellent and we are a group of fussy eaters who live in Thailand! Everything was authentic and well presented. Portion sizes were very good. The food can be cooked to your preferred spice level. We got talking to the owner. She was very friendly and took great care of us. We ate so much!! They also have some good wines to drink, plus Thai desserts. The basic location might not suit everybody. There is no air conditioning, but they have some powerful fans that are good at keeping you cool. If you are after REALLY GOOD Thai food, then...

Excellent fresh Thai food with an extensive menu prepared to order. Great spring rolls which very few HKG Thai restaurants offer 5 pieces cut in half (hidden on the 3rd page of the menu). Wonderful green mango salad, order no chili or chili on the side if you don’t like it hot. Lots of tiny shrimp, which can be a strange texture if you’re used to them being ground in the mortar and pestle. Extensive choices, some can be vegetarian if ordered without fish sauce, but no separate veg section of menu. Friendly staff. Surroundings are cluttered and the market is a bit stark. Prices about what you’d expect for quality fresh food. Portions ample for sharing amongst 2. Beer and soft drinks. Cash only. Toilets (part of the market) next to the dining area is equipped with soap and toilet paper dispenser for...

Ordered with them through Deliveroo, however after waiting for more than half an hour and getting a notification that the Deliveroo driver had arrived at the restaurant to pick up the order, the restaurant randomly cancelled the order out of the blue without any explanation. When I called the restaurant up to ask why, a lady picked up and was extremely rude and defensive, and even went as far as to say they don’t do Deliveroo orders and that I must be mistaken. Overall an extremely bizarre and unpleasant experience which left us starving and annoyed at 9pm - still not quite sure what is going on with this restaurant to be honest… order at...

Mouth watering wok fired Thai food served with a hearty smile from the lady herself. Affordable, no frills, and often full even on weeknights. Situated in a old cooked food center so be ready to sweat. Loved it and hate to share as don’t want to to get more crowded, but here you have it.

Food quality is good even though it is a small Thai restaurant hidden in a market. Service is attentive staff is friendly. Only drawback is that the environment in the wet market is somewhat untidy.
