Service: horrible... A waitress put a big dirty tray on the chair where a customer was supposed to sit on to collect the dirty dishes on the table. The chair was wet and dirty afterwards. She just then went back to the kitchen without wiping it. How was I supposed to sit there? Also, they seemed a bit rude judging by the way they talked and treated customers. Moreover, I had to tell them a few times to refill my tea. I don't really blame them. This place seemed understaffed.
Food: a bit pricey, but the quality is pretty good. The sea urchin one and sashimi one were amazing. I wouldn't bother with the one that is semi cooked... I prefer it raw.
There were four of us. We wanted to order three bowls. However, the restaurant policy requires each person to order a bowl or snacks that are worth 200$. Well, it's a stupid policy. The rice was so filling we ended up wasting food.
I wouldn't recommend you to the restaurant unless you are a fanatic of this type of food. There are plenty of other cheaper and much better...
Read moreThis place is known for serving huge sized”Dons”. It’s just a lot of rice piled into the shape of a mountain with some toppings to hide it. You get a miso soup with the don. It’s very overpriced though in my option.
Also got 3 snacks and none of them were good. The tiny oysters were hidden inside the super thick and dense batter with a few pieces of lettuce on the side loaded with mayo for no reason. It was just bad. The deep fried squid had the same awful batter and the squid was so dry and hard to chew. Bad again. The egg dish was plain too. I could barely taste the mentaiko because again it was loaded with mayo.
I have visited before, but this time will be my last. The snacks were just so bad , and $150-300 for a don is...
Read moreNot exactly the best place for Japanese rice bowls, but gets the job done if you're craving for one. Price ranges around 128-228hkd, which is just a little bit more than what you'd pay a local diner. But you get Sashimi and stuff that's much more valuable than fishball and crab cake.
That said, the restaurant is overstaffed - too many people in too small a space, both servers and kitchen. The aburi don comes out cold (they seem to just torch for the visual char but don't understand the real purpose of aburi). The table arrangements can be rather tight for most people (but that's typical HK). The price to value ratio can be better improved for their quality of...
