Kung Tak Lam Shanghai Vegetarian Cuisine (Tsim Sha Tsui) — Restaurant in Kowloon

I have been to this restaurant many times and on every occasion each and every of the food dishes have been superb - true to the regional tastes, preparation and presentation. The Staff have been good and helpful without being too attentive as can happen. My only [ recent ] gripe is that the tables are now closer together and so privacy is not as good as before, however in the land of greedy landlords this is sadly to be expected. I did not think that the bill was particularly pricey given the quality of the food, the fairly small capacity of the restaurant and the location. One of the worst dining experiences I’ve had in a long time. The food was downright terrible — bland and almost inedible. It felt like no effort went into the preparation.

The service was just as bad. We were asked to pay the bill before even starting our meal — completely unprofessional and off-putting. To top it off, the staff was rude and showed zero courtesy throughout. No basic hospitality, and a clear attitude of not caring at all.

This place seriously needs to rethink everything — from their menu to their staff training. Definitely not going back, and wouldn’t recommend...

Visited for a birthday dinner as a family, had really low expectations as we’ve never been to this branch but the services were amazing and don’t get me started about how good the staff was. The staff was incredibly kind and helpful, even helped us with the cake tray and everything which we appreciated a lot.
