I had to pitch a really important business proposal of my lifetime with some of my potential overseas clients. Out of umpteen no.of coffee shops, I chose to visit The coffee academics at Harbour city. the cafe was deserted, However the employees were doing their own thing (didn't even acknowledge our entry/presence). after the waitress was called, she said "Sir the minimum order per person is $70". we were ok with that, and continue to go through the menu. when we are ready to order, the waitress once again reiterated about the minimum order price (wasn't pleasant this time). We have placed the order this time and minding our own talk. We waited for nearly 25 mins and no sign of our coffee/food. After nearly 30 mins of waiting, the barista walked up to us and said "Sir the coffee machine is broken, and couldn't prepare any coffee at this time" (the clock didn't even tick 07:30 pm). It was quiet embarrassing and not likeable evening by everyone. Most items on the menu are either sold out and present only on the menu. Bad quality for such a...
Read moreMe "I'd like a cranberry scone" Staff "Sorry, we are out." Me "then I'd like a berry muffin" Staff "Sorry, we are out. All we have is the chocolate muffin." Me "ok, I'll take two of those. And a juice." Staff "Sorry, we have no juice. Just the bottles in the cooler." Me "sigh. Ok. I'll pick one of those. And I'd like an agave coffee."
Why is there food in the display if I cannot actually order any of it? At least put up a little sign saying items are sold out so I don't get my hopes up! All the juices listed on the menu were also sold out. I was here at 2 pm. If the shop is open until 10 pm, I feel that being sold out so early is a little unreasonable.
I'm still giving three stars because the coffee itself is very good. However in my mind "agave syrup" means sweet. It was not sweetened at all. The hot chocolate is deliciously dark and not too sweet. And the muffin was actually...
Read moreWould like to meet the friend for a cafe break after lunch, pop in here at around 2:45 pm, 1 table is being occupied, the server said minimum charge $70 per person. Scan the QR code to place the order by own, it’s take time to go through the variety cafe menu , then find my simple latte. Big cup and nice coffee. My friend comes a bit late , he doesn’t want to spend time to order it by himself , straight to order Iced Americano to the waiter, the feedback from the waiter is strange…. What a pity, the coffee we ordered which not fulfilled the min paid, we try to look for the menu, no small bite we can choose, one cake option we don’t like, end up , we have to pick up a piece of cookie ( the flavour we don’t like it too )to settle the bill. However, the server is friendly and understanding to accept our bill still has roughly $15 different to meet their...
