Positives & hoodwinking: Good Food & service . Staff is also very friendly and attentive. Caution: Keep 10 % extra budget as your bill from the menu price that you see gets added by 10 % more on the pretext of service charges. You will need to pay HKD 50 EXTRA on a HKD 500 food bill. Recommendation: Pl add this to you menu price or mention this to your guest to avoid getting shock treatment when bill is presented. One star skipped for this reason. Over crowded: The celebrity visits you have posted on your wall are about 2 to 3 decades old.. Don't take your customer for GRANTED 😮😮!! Update: Your arrogant response has got to post an update. Who decides to pay for your service?? Customer right? So let him get , assess and decide to pay for the same. a) Why not write on the top of your menu in bold print that you charge 10 % extra for so called SERVICE that you are charging for ( nothing but hoodwinking the customer who will be embarassed to pay you when you present the bill , since he did not read your FINE PRINT at the bottom of your menu and place his order in good faith!!! ) b) Your actual Menu price in the restaurant is much higher than what you have recently posted here online ( which is attached) . Again a double whammy on the Paying customer! I just tried Sangeeta veg restaurant, your next door neighbour restaurant and they ( and other restaurants I tried, did not charge any service charge). Be fair and update your menu price upwards with 10 % service charges and let the customer absorb it, with a smile. Don't take your customer for GRANTED 😮😮!! Woodland is one of the best place among all the vegetarian Indian cuisine in Hong Kong, good variety on the menu and very reasonable price. It’s definitely a good spot if you want to try something healthy vegetarian Indian food. Appetiser (Free) 👍👍👍👍 complementary Crispy roll. Dahi Batata Puri (Hk$65) 👍👍👍👍 This round hollow puri was light and crispy, stuffed with potato mixture, yoghurt and chutney, then showered with thin crisps and coriander on top. The flavour of this little ball was great and has just the right amount of creaminess without being too heavy, it was a light and refreshing starter to kick off our meal. Paper Masala Dosa (HK$70) 👍👍👍👍👍 This paper thin, crispy wafer-like Paper Masala Dosa was filled with a mildly spiced potato masala and served with coconut chutney, tomato chutney and Sambar. It is flavourful to dip with all these condiments with your Dosa, the portion is huge that good enough for two to share. Vegetable Biriyani (HK$70) 👍👍👍👍 This is the fried rice with mixed vegetables served alongside with yogurt salad, veggie curry. The basmati rice was fried with spices and veggies, it was packed full of flavourful and aromatic spices. Masala Tea (HK$35) 👍👍👍👍 This cup of masala tea was contained with a mixture of spices and herbs, it was good to keep your body warm especially during winter days. Mango Lassi (HK$35) 👍👍👍👍 A delicious blend of mangoes and yogurt, creamy and refreshing.

Great food, great hosting and cozy place. Woodlands is a place not only for vegetarian but all food lovers😋 All dishes are so authentic, tasty and decent! All of us were so enjoyable and love the food so much which we were served. Some may not know much about Indian food and may had misunderstood just taste "curry alike" to allcl indian dishes or just spicy. But you can enjoy a huge variety of heartfelt dishes which looks good and taste awesome. They can also serve vegan dishes so no worry about your stomach, as they have also selected quality ingredients. Some of us are 100% meat lovers but have thumbs up for the entire night😘😘 and that may cause 100% change your impression to Indian food!! This is beyond Veggie 👍👍 Highly recommended to ask the staff of Woodlands for advises if you have really no ideas what should pick. I believe you will enjoy as much as I did! Must come more often to try other different dishes...with more people! This is the only way to taste more while can share😁

The curries were good, especially considering price, but: 1. The restaurant's cleanliness needs improvement. The mirror lining our booth had a lot of grimy fingerprints, and things just looked rather dusty and not clean. 2. They serve cheap-tasting short-grained rice, despite the menu photos showing long-grained basmati-looking rice. The waiter had confirmed it was basmati before we ordered. I suppose that was just a miscommunication though, not deceptive. (Updated after owner's response: Regardless of authenticity and origin, the rice grains resemble cha caan teng rice. Check my picture. Guests who expect basmati rice based on the menu photos will be disappointed.) 3. The manager/host guy has kind of a hostile vibe. I don't expect luxury service at a budget restaurant, but I dunno, just felt unwelcoming. As HK has lots of good Indian restaurants, I don't think I will go back here unless I'm in the area and nothing else looks good.

First time trying this place since the refurbishment and I love this restaurant in the corner! It's close to the MTR, very attentive service and delicious starters. Highly recommend the Idly Vada, Channa Masala (chickpea), the paper masala dosa, Coconut rice, daal soup..ok I ran out of space to try anything else! Rich, spicy, well executed vegetarian Indian food. You can taste the veggies and the spices which really is a mark of good food in my opinion. Reasonable prices in a comfortable, bright, fresh and modern decor. Serves as a great work lunch or dinner date! The only thing I would improve is the addition of actual fresh juices rather than the cocktail which was too sweet for me and some recommendations on something a bit fresher to balance out the rich flavors on the menu. Excellent overall and highly recommended.

Nice Indian restaurant centrally located just opposite to East Tsim Sha Sui metro station, adjacent to Wing on Plaza complex, Hing Kong. Very cool ambience with decently dressed women attendants with bindi on their forehead representing Indian culture. Great personalities like Sri PV Narasimha Rao, SPB, Rajnikant, Hari Haran, Ilaya Raja, Anil Kumble, Krisnamachari Srkant etc visited this restaurant and endorsed the quality of food. I ordered South Indian Thali and was quite impressed with the taste and authenticity. I felt as if I was in Chennai having food in any of the famous restaurants. Thanks to the owner Mr. Mahesh Sahu hailing from Berhampur, Orissa for maintaining such a decent restaurant in Far East with authentic South Indian flavor. I recommend every Indian who visit Hong Kong to dine here for good food 👏👏👏
