I recently had the pleasure of dining at Macau Café Chéri, and I must say, it was an absolute delight! From the moment I stepped in, the ambiance struck a perfect balance between cozy and sophisticated, with warm lighting and a welcoming vibe that made me feel right at home. The staff were incredibly attentive, offering recommendations with genuine enthusiasm that elevated the entire experience. The food, however, was the true star of the show. I started with their signature chicken dish, slow-cooked in a rich, flavorful tomato-based sauce that was both comforting and vibrant. The chicken, garnished with fresh herbs while the sauce had a perfect balance of tanginess and depth. Chicken is a bit rough and not too fresh- but it’s compensated by other dish and rice
The croquettes were a delightful surprise—crispy on the outside with a creamy, savory filling, paired with a light, herbaceous dipping sauce that added a refreshing contrast.
Their hummus, served with warm, crusty bread, was silky smooth and bursting with flavor, topped with a drizzle of olive oil and fresh herb.
The red shrimp pasta with lobster sauce was another highlight, with perfectly cooked linguine coated in a robust and rich lobster sauce, topped with juicy red shrimp and fresh basil. (The blue lobster was sold out during this visit but this red shrimp is perfect substitute ! )
To wash it all down, I had a refreshing iced tea with a citrusy twist—simple yet perfectly executed. Pricing of the drinks is bit higher than expected
Macau Café Chéri truly exceeded my expectations with its thoughtful dishes and impeccable service. It’s a must-visit for anyone craving a memorable culinary...
Read moreCame on a Thursday lunchtime and it was really busy so I was glad that I made a reservation! (Definitely recommend booking beforehand as they had to turn away many walk ins because they were almost fully booked) I actually saw this restaurant online on social media where they showed how they made their mashed potatoes and I knew I had to come. The mashed potatoes certainly did not disappoint, they were silky smooth and buttery and complimented perfectly with my main dish. I got the fish urokoyaki as my main because I saw it being recommended on social media as well but I was pleasantly surprised because it was even better than I expected. They stuffed shrimp mousseline underneath the crunchy skin so there was actually three textures in one bite, the crunchiness on top, the firm springiness of the shrimp, then the tender flaky fish. The service was also very good despite how busy they were. The server came to give me a explanation of the dish when she came to serve it to me, and another server actually apologized for not coming sooner to ask me how the food was when I got my bill. I thought the food was very very good for value as I am from Hong Kong and this kind of food would probably cost way more in Hong Kong. But they have an even more affordable lunch menu so I guess that’s why they are so popular! Would definitely come again when in Macau and I’m recommending this restaurant to...
Read moreExcellent food with reasonable price. The complimentary bread that came with hummus was warm and crispy. Hummus was nicely seasoned too. It was the first time my dad ever had hummus and he couldn’t stop dipping it. All the food we ordered were highly pleasant to the taste. I particularly liked the tuna curdo with sweet pepper. The sweet pepper added a new taste to the tuna and the whole dish was delicious. Staff was attentive too. I would definitely come back if I ever visited...
