2 person $395 Porto and Macau Restaurant ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ This restaurant offers an amazing blend of Portuguese and Macau cuisine, making it a unique dining experience. The ambiance is warm and inviting, with beautifully decorated interiors that enhance the dining atmosphere. Food Highlights: 1. Baked Stuffed Suckling Pig Rice “Portuguese Style” - A delightful dish that combines tender pig meat with aromatic rice, cooked to perfection. The flavors are rich and satisfying. 2. Pan Fried Sole Fillet with Tartar Sauce - This dish features a crispy fillet of sole, complemented by a tangy tartar sauce. It’s a perfect blend of textures and flavors. 3. Grilled Macau Sole with Cream and Mustard - The creamy mustard sauce adds a unique twist to the grilled sole, making it a standout dish. 4. Baked Bread with Bacalhau Mash Potato & Cheese - A comforting and flavorful dish, where the bacalhau and cheese blend harmoniously with the mashed potatoes. 5. Sichuan Pepper/Sichuan Pepper Shrimp - A must-try for seafood lovers, these shrimp are perfectly cooked with a hint of Sichuan pepper, adding a delightful spice to the dish. The service is excellent, with attentive and friendly staff ensuring a pleasant dining experience. Highly recommend for anyone looking to enjoy a fusion of Portuguese and Macau flavors!

This is location #2 of Corto Restaurante. I'm not sure why the review is less than what it is as the price is quite reasonable for the portion and taste. We are a group of 7 and they were polite in service. We ordered set menu for 4 people ($518) and it has: -Stewed Clams in white wine -choice of soups -pig's ear salad -grilled Macau sole with tamarind sauce -roasted leg of veal with herb -fried Portugese sausage with mixed mushroom -portugese fried rice -dessert -choice of selected beverage Separately, we also ordered: -baked stuffed suckling pig with rice -baked pastry with bacalhau, mashed potato and cheese The kitchen service was fast, food was really tasty The one that we liked the most are: -roasted leg of veal with herb -baked stuffed suckling pig with rice -baked pastry with bacalhau, mashed potato and cheese -vegetable with garlic For the 7 of us, we spent $1100MOP with change. This is very reasonable. We almost can't finish the food. Overall, highly recommend!

One of the most famous restaurants here, we came around 11 something and luckily got a reservation for 12:30. I've never been to Portugal so I can't say how authentic this food is, but Macau was a Portuguese colony at one point so I think this is pretty close. I like that they also serve some clearly Chinese options for the Chinese people who live here, like the stir fried veggies and fried rice. All the food we ordered was good and very filling. The portions are large here. While I was a bit disappointed that the potato soup I ordered wasn't thicker, it was still tasty. I wish we also got the clams but we already over-ordered. The octopus dish was my favourite, as the salsa/ceviche-type side dish was super yummy and tangy, and the octopus was surprisingly well cooked and not tough and chewy (but the thicker pieces I had to cut up).

Ate at Corto a couple years back. This is a locally-owned and operated restaurant with two branches in Taipa Village where you can find lower-priced Portuguese food. We recently dined at the Corto branch on Rua dos Clerigos. Our meal wasn't great but it didn't cost that much either.

For our starter, we tried their deep fried bacalhau balls (6 balls). These were not good at all, having virtually no cod which defeats the purpose of this dish. The texture and taste was nothing more than fried mash potato (rating 1.5 out of 5) - a wasted order.

We also tried the Arroz de Pato. This serving was a bit small but not bad for the price paid. Too few duck shreds but the rice was stewed well in duck broth, taking on the duck flavours nicely. It was also baked well so we liked the dish and would order it again, probably as a side dish though.

We lastly tried their Serradura for dessert. This wasn't very good, tasting simply of whipped cream with crumbs (rating 2 of 5). You can find much better versions of this famous Macanese dessert throughout the restaurants in Macau.

In the end, meal prices are lower at Corto but the food is couple grades lower that what you can find in better Portuguese restaurants. If you are a budget minded traveller, this might be a place worth considering. Otherwise, it is fairly easy to find better Portuguese restaurants...
