Ate at Corto a couple years back. This is a locally-owned and operated restaurant with two branches in Taipa Village where you can find lower-priced Portuguese food. We recently dined at the Corto branch on Rua dos Clerigos. Our meal wasn't great but it didn't cost that much either.
For our starter, we tried their deep fried bacalhau balls (6 balls). These were not good at all, having virtually no cod which defeats the purpose of this dish. The texture and taste was nothing more than fried mash potato (rating 1.5 out of 5) - a wasted order.
We also tried the Arroz de Pato. This serving was a bit small but not bad for the price paid. Too few duck shreds but the rice was stewed well in duck broth, taking on the duck flavours nicely. It was also baked well so we liked the dish and would order it again, probably as a side dish though.
We lastly tried their Serradura for dessert. This wasn't very good, tasting simply of whipped cream with crumbs (rating 2 of 5). You can find much better versions of this famous Macanese dessert throughout the restaurants in Macau.
In the end, meal prices are lower at Corto but the food is couple grades lower that what you can find in better Portuguese restaurants. If you are a budget minded traveller, this might be a place worth considering. Otherwise, it is fairly easy to find better Portuguese restaurants...
