I was speechless. I was attracted by the Michelin recommendation hanging at the door and went in. When I came up, I was told that there were not many dishes on the first day. But the main dishes are available. Then the weird dinner started. First there were two slices of very thin bread, and the butter didn’t taste like good butter. Then came a pot of clams. The clams are not clean enough and almost broke my teeth! The waiter’s excuse is that the supplier didn’t handle it properly. Didn't you choose the supplier? ! Then the beef cubes came, and the waiter highly recommended the products even though several of the dishes we wanted to order were not available! After the dish was served, the color, smell and taste were astonishing. It was presented on the plate like an Indian curry and the meat was so tough that it made your teeth chew! The last dish of crispy pork is here! The fries have no flavor! The little bowl of ketchup is unfathomable! The crispy pork skin was a little burnt, the middle layer of meat was very burnt, and the bottom layer of soft meat had too much lard and was very greasy! The margarita ended up not smelling of alcohol at all. The surface of the Portuguese tart was burnt and the inside was too sugary. All in all a very unpleasant dinner. Including the service fee of 697, not a good...
Read moreSurprisingly disappointing. Visited there with HK friends, table of 6 in upstairs roof patio, heard of its famous name previously and personally tried with near depression from many of the Portuguese dishes.
The classic vegetable soup, Balcalhau, sardines were fine.
Portuguese sausages grilled under fire in front of customer looks nice. It's taste shouldn’t go wrong, but was somehow overly salty with lack of meaty taste. Chicken and then the distasteful rice spoiled the appetite. How come!?
Crab dishes from next table looks good. Given more chance, for benefit of the doubt, we ordered. It should served hot but was half cold, tasteless, a ‘don’t judge by the look’ lesson.
What’s going on with the food not keeping up to par?
Many other local Portuguese restaurants offered way tastier food, cheaper and clean.
Dirty and untidy washroom, nobody in this restaurant nor management nor even the owner cares!? Unbelievable paying with that price for such negative out of whack experience.
Only one thing worth mentioning was the staff served decently, hence the one star. Visited on...
Read moreWe happened to be walking by this restaurant and saw all the food awards so we figured it must be really good and gave it a try. We ordered the paella, the roast pork and the sausage as the appetizer. The sausage was decent but the other dishes were extremely disappointing. The seafood was way overcooked the prawns were hard to peel and rubbery the rice was fine but nothing to be overly excited about. Roast pork was also decent, had a good crisp to it but nothing overly special. The French fries looked like grocery store frozen fries, they were hot but for the price and the hype you would expect fresh potatoes. The presentation, the quality and taste for the price just didn’t make sense. Also the service was not great, no one checked in on us or refilled our waters. I would understand slower service if the restaurant was busy but they weren’t. The server didn’t explain the food to us which a higher end restaurant would usually do. Overall the experience was pretty bad considering the...
