American Chain Mexican Restaurant Chuy's

Chuy’s food is fantastic! Authentic Tex-mex and Fresh! My favorite part about Chuy’s is the happy hour! My friends and I frequent happy hour there for the delicious Margaritas and the nacho car. Today, my boyfriend and I stopped in to have a drink after work, it was super busy- no spots left at the tiny bar and one table top open. A server told us we could sit at the table even though we were stopping in just for drinks. Cool. I went to get chips and salsa, my bf ordered drinks from a different sever and explained we were just having drinks- no menus needed. About 20 minutes later, the same server comes back and asks us if we needed menus tonight- I look confused as my bf already told her we were just drinking. She began to explain that the free nacho cart is only for the guests sitting in the bar who are actually purchasing meals. I disagreed with her, even pulled out the good ole menu and pointed out the advertisement. She said that the menu was in fact in correct- I disagreed. I have been coming to this establishment for almost three years, I know the drill. She explained that it just started yesterday and if a manager sees us, we will get in trouble and be asked to leave. She then instructed us to lie to the manager and say we were waiting for food. I questioned her about the happy hour rules, showed her the menu-Again and she began to explain again that they just decided last night to change the rules. There was no notifications posted anywhere- not on the menus or the tables- no where. I then invited her to have the manager come to speak to me and she laughed it off and walked away. For the next 20 minutes, she proceeded to stand behind me talking loudly and rudely about how she wished she had a table to sit these poor people who are waiting to eat dinner, counted down the minutes to the end of happy hour. Our vibe was killed- we couldn’t even enjoy our drinks or each other’s company. I realize she wanted to get a bigger party at the 4 top we were sitting at to make more money. However, we are paying customers- we walked in at 6:37 and were gone by 7:12. We would have stayed longer and drank more and even ordered food, bc the nachos were very enticing as usual. but we were obviously not welcome in her section unless we were spending more money. What a waste of time and money.

First, would like to say that this was a recommendation from my Dad as he works in the area. Second, I would like to say that my boyfriend is ½ Mexican & ½ Irish so he can take some heat (he eats habaneros very easily). Third, I would like to say that not only was this our 1st time here, but we told our waiter as well. He did well with greeting us & getting our drink order & bringing out the chips, and salsa (my boyfriend loves salsa, but he said that this one tasted watered-down & like they took tomatoes & blended it with some already made salsa) & a white dipping sauce that I later found out was jalapeño ranch dipping sauce. He (the waiter) did well in explaining a few things & telling us what was popular & what he liked & recommended. After we ordered, then things went downhill from there. As far as food is concerned the queso is really good. We had to ask for more chips though. The burrito my boyfriend got was really good as well (much better than what I got, in my opinion). I got what the waiter told me was popular the Chicka-Chicka Boom-Boom enchiladas. This is VERY spicy!! I have a very mild palette & my boyfriend doesn't & even he said it had a big "kick" to it. So I just ate the chicken out of them which was very tasty. It was a bit dry but that's ok. The rice & beans that came with my dish were good as well. I asked my boyfriend (who's from Michigan & came to visit with me over the 4th of July holiday of 2023) if he would ever want to come back & almost instantly without much hesitation, he said no. I have to agree. I think that COVID ruined a lot (some might say everything) in the customer service / fast food/ food industry & no one wants to work it anymore, but we all want to be able to eat out at several different types of places?!! I hope that this only helps others that follow in tow. I'm not doing this to be negative in any way. Just attempting to help & give my opinion.

My husband and I just had the most amazing meal at the Columbus, OH Seward Street location. We joined the waitlist on our way to Columbus as it’s a Friday night and we know it can get busy. We were met by the hostess who seated us promptly and a server who was not working our section came over to greet us as our server was stretched thin. She recommended swirled margaritas, which we tried and were AMAZING. Our server then came over, grabbed us Creamy Jalapeño (our favorite!) as well as more salsa, and recommended the Chicken Flautas and Chuychanga. We normally get the fajitas to split, but I have to say, I think we found our new favorite meal! She came back to check on us frequently, making sure we had everything we need, not an easy feat in a post-COVID environment due to workplace shortage. I think the kitchen staff deserves a shoutout as well because the flavors of the meal (the salsa, creamy jalapeño, rice, beans, and entrees) were phenomenal. It was by far an amazing meal and a great experience. Keep up the great work!

The chips and salsa was awesome!! I ordered the grilled chicken salad and my wife had the chicken tacos. At first glance, I thought wow they have really did a light serving on the cheese and tomatoes. I looked at other people‘s plates and it was the same. I think that they maybe are trying to save money by putting smaller portions of cheese and tomatoes on their dishes. After we ordered the food, came out in about three minutes. It seemed like. Super fast super quick and very kind service. Our waitress was wonderful. Brought us extra salsa for the salad and the chips. The atmosphere was really fun out of cool looking decor. While we were there, it was nice and quiet. You know how it is when you go to a restaurant so loud you can barely take it. Maybe it was just that time of the day. In conclusion we’re not going back because the food wasn’t that good. Been to a lot of Mexican restaurants that I have given a five star to. The reason for the three star was because of the atmosphere. The food was definitely a two star.

Solid place worth stopping in if you are in the area. First this is a chain restaurant so know that going in. Next is the staff our servers have been great every time. Kid friendly they had food my little monsters ate and loved. The staff were on top of my kids we didn’t even ask for more napkins they just brought them. My kid spilled his drink, they had a new one and the messed cleaned up and fast. Food was great and the price was even better the last meal we had there was under $60 with tip. For a family of four in the Easton area that is crazy cheap. Lastly it was the tortillas all hand made in front of you and as I am told (and I don’t know if this is true) best tortillas you will ever have are made by hand, better if they are made by someone who knows how to do it right. And this place makes them right.
