I have eaten here multiple times. But today's experience was substandard. The server, mature aged woman with blond pulled back ponytail, impeccably dressed, shoes mirror shined, nails perfect, makeup perfect. Her physical appearance gave excellent vibes, then she spoke. She was what we call "nice nasty". Forced smile, an air of not wanting to be there or DO her job with excellence. Ice cold with unwelcoming vibes. Her voice cadance was curt, ie... just rude with a smile. I placed my order for the American Breakfast, crispy bacon, not translucent fatty ends and it came back absolutely burned. I could not believe she thought it was acceptable, I could not believe the Chef allowed it to leave the kitchen.(I wish I would have taken a pic) Even when I initially placed my order and asked for crispy bacon, her eyes slightly rolled with control like I was being extra. I believe in going higher and being kind no matter the treatment I receive. I gently and kindly said, "this bacon is burned" may I have crispy but not burned?" Her rudeness leveled up but with control. She told me it's because it was black forrest bacon. I am familiar with black forrest bacon. When I have dined at RH, I've requested black forrest crispy bacon in the past, it has never been served in this matter. I thought was the chef angry because I requested crispy? Is it like asking for a well done steak? Is it considered blasphemy? The second order was exactly like the first and not edible. I layed the first order on the same plate as the second order and they were identical. I ate one and navigated around the charred sections. It was tough and hard to chew. I just left the remainder on the plate and didn't push the issue because we chose RH as a place to celebrate, I wanted to protect our joy, so I let it go. She then came to the table, saw I had not touched the burned bacon and said, should I remove this plate for you? She didn't address the 2nd order, didn't ask if I was unsatisfied with the second order. The crispy potatoes were great, the scrambled eggs were very soupy, the ciabatta toast was good. The best part of the breakfast was the chai latte (hot) I enjoy giving life changing tips, but I begrudgingly gave the standard 20%. I seldom read the itemized bill, but I glanced at it to calculate the tip and noticed 1 side bacon prep error - $12.00. An excellent server would have verbally shared that information and apologized.... she did not.. So I guess I paid for 1 burned order but not the 2nd order?
I'm not sure if I will return to RH. The actual restaurant is absolutely gorgeous. The front house host(s) were wonderful and welcoming.
*I decided to read the low star reviews and there is a definite pattern of rudeness (especially to people of color) I did not want to think that was the case. My friend is white and her food had no issues at all. My thoughts have shifted after discovering this pattern. I guess it does matter what color the hand is that's spending $$$. RH, your pattern of behavior says people of color are not welcomed or wanted. What will you do? Stay the same or change? The...

Now the bad/awful
Overall, what was supposed to be a fun afternoon/evening away from the kiddos ended up started off poorly with this place, but luckily Coopers Hawk, Beeline, and Fortydeuce made up for it and we still had a great night. I'll keep the review at 3 stars because I'm trying to convince myself that we had an isolated experience but I'm pretty sure we...
Read moreI honestly don’t know where to start! Yesterday was my birthday and we decided to go to this establishment. We are all of African descent. This is to give you some texture to how our experience went. We were 6 adults and 2 toddlers. The ambience is very beautiful. The staff is horrible! We all work providing services to the public as 4 of us are physicians, 1 professor and 1 engineer. To see how we were treated was horrible! The person that was serving us was very rude! My bro in law asked for ice after ordering drinks and he’s states “ do you want me to bring the ice first or the coke?” In a very nasty tone! I was like oh it’s going to be one of those nights! Smh then after rushing us to take our order, my brother in law decided to order an appetizer (shrimp cocktail 4/10) and this same server says in a very condescending tone “do you want me to bring the shrimp cocktail first or your entree?” Smh this is suppose to be fine dining. He wouldn’t talk to us like that we were white! The lady that served us the steak kept rolling her eyes when my brother in law asked her which one was medium rare and which is well done and she didn’t know which one was which and gave us the wrong steak and kept rolling her eyes like she got somewhere else to be. There’s so much I can do as I have a food critic friend followers on TikTok and i can do so much damage but i won’t as i know these people need their jobs. For fine dining he should’ve asked if we were there for an occasion or just dinner. You have to make the moment memorable for people. But i guess if you’re Black your experience will be different. I’ve been to many fancy restaurants in my lifetime and this one is one i won’t come back to. The best thing they have is fries 😂. The steak was cold, salmon had no taste, the lobster roll was mediocre. If you want nice pics then yes but for food and fine dining experience go else where. To think I wanted to purchase furniture here smh. Please train your staff well and teach them not to judge people based on their skin color. Some of us just want to escape the stress of demanding jobs and this type of service is unacceptable! I will spend my black Obgyn money elsewhere and will not...
