A romantic night for one!

I came here on Valentine’s Day by myself. Unfortunately, my first love is currently 5,000 kilometres away. Not to worry, because I had a second love tonight: the food at Huitzilin Restaurante! And the Mexican love ballads, like Gloria Trevi, certainly added to the mood ;)

I sat facing the door and enjoyed watching the b-boys and b-girls hip-hop dance in the Chorro de Quevedo plaza. Talk about dinner with a show!

I ordered the Azteca soup with pollo (chicken), and the chicken and vegetable tacos. Everything was delicious, and I just spent a month in Mexico so I’m a tough critic to impress. I paired it with a vermouth and soda - a much needed aperitif, and boy was I ever stuffed afterwards. Time for a digestif!

In closing, I recommend this spot for locals and travellers...

We chose the place based on the feedbacks we read on google, but I regret to say that we got definitely disappointed during and after the dinner. The tbone steak was cold and not tasty at all. The mexican mix of meat, chicken and pork was completely dry and full of coriander as well as the veggies. Nobody around during the dinner to ask for an additional drink or food. What a nice place to enjoy drink and dinner ! They have a small but interesting terrace surrounded by a magnificient colorful ambiance and the service is really excellent. After leaving this place to go around taking more pictures and go home for dinner, I decided to go back there to enjoy dinner and it was exquisite.
