From the moment you step inside, you are transported to a magical world where traditional Colombian cuisine meets modern culinary creations. The atmosphere is charming and cozy, with a nod to traditional Colombian design elements.
The menu is a delightful mix of traditional Colombian dishes and creative culinary creations. The portions are generous, and the flavors are bold and delicious. I highly recommend trying their "Bandeja Paisa" (a traditional platter from the Andean region of Colombia) and "Arepas" (corn cakes filled with different ingredients) it's absolutely delicious! And don't forget to try their homemade "Agua de Panela" (sugar cane juice) it's the perfect refreshment to go along with your meal.
The service is top-notch, the staff are friendly and attentive, and they make sure to provide a fun and entertaining dining experience. They even have a "Salsa dancing show" where they perform traditional Colombian dances while you enjoy your meal, it's quite a sight to see.
But the real star of the show at La puerta de la catedral is the food. The flavors are out of this world, and the dishes are beautifully presented. It's a great place to go for a casual dinner, or for a special occasion.
In short, La puerta de la catedral is a must-visit restaurant in Bogota! It's the perfect combination of delicious food, fun atmosphere, and...

In our search for typical Colombian food, today in the city of Bogotá, we find the restaurant “La Puerta de la CATEDRAL”, located as its name says, after the primate cathedral of Bogotá, we have ordered a traditional dish, known in many places and a reference throughout the world of the Colombian population, “La Bandeja Paisa”
Composed of beans, rice, chorizo, black pudding, arepa, banana slice, avocado, ground meat and pork rind, according to the Colombians “the most complete food”, in a way it is true, it has left me satiated, not only for its presentation, which is huge, also for the combination of flavours, accompanied by a delicious yerbabuena lemonade to which I have nothing to say, “only rich” but in the bandeja paisa I have noticed the lack of flavour in two ingredients, the chorizo and the black pudding, they tell me that the chorizo is from a Colombian brand, something traditional and delicious, I know it yes! But for me it is already processed, the black pudding is traditional, according to the administrator, but I have not felt the flavour as I have done in other places, of course it is my opinion, you will tell me if you like it, but I do not have that certainty, clearly you are the ones who will come to Colombia too, you will know and tell me how it goes.
I liked the atmosphere, the place with its French Renaissance architecture, vaulted ceilings and large spaces, has a place for you to buy souvenirs, something to improve are its bathrooms, they do not combine with the architecture, more because of the lack of maintenance and cleanliness, it is my opinion, as I said only you will say.

Read moreThis place is a scam. You pay so much for food and they give you nothing. The food is not bad but they charge a lot of money because it is a tourist area and they give you baby food. I don't recommend this place if you are a tourist they are taking advantage of the people that are looking for original Colombian food. Just so you understand a plate of empanadas or 4 baby empanadas equals to 50 dollars (in pesos) maybe tourist don't understand because they are paying in other currency but that's what it equals in pesos super expensive - meaning they are a scam. Please there are better places where you can eat in this area. I DON'T RECOMMEND. Don't make these thieft rich when Bogota has many places with great people that don't take advantage of tourist. I have traveled the world and been to too many places and this by far is the saddest place ever. However, customer service is what keeps this place going the cooks and servers are good. The worst around this area based on taking...
