La Bohème Restaurante-Bar — Restaurant in Cali

This place has been on my list to come to the last couple of times we have verb to cali in the last 3 years. We finally decided to go.

This a pretty nice place is Cali. The view was nice and the service by Johan was excellent. We went in a Sunday night and it was pretty empty. The pics made this place look fancier than what it is. I recommend coming at night as the view looks better with the special lighting.

DRINKS: They have a full bar but the drinks were over priced. They are priced more than the same drink in the US which has not been my experience when in Cali. TANGUERAY WAS $20 USD... WHAT??? My partner ordered a Sal y Nieve mocktail and it came in a really small cup 🥤 ... Not glass 🍸 . Weird presentation for the mocktail. I ordered an maracuya Italian soda 🍷 which I love in cali, but this place the soda was average.

FOOD: The food was pretty good... I ordered the Mal y Tierra and The 🥩 steak was good but the shrimp 🦐 tasted a bit old. My partner ordered the catch of the day - fish 🐠 and he said it was well prepared but lacking a little salt.

This has been one of our more expensive meals in Cali and I would say we likely will not return. Cali has so many options with fine dining food, ambiance and great drinks for less money and better taste. I recommend trying this place once.

I’ve never had such horrible service at a restaurant, let alone a “HIGH-END” one. I’ve had better service a your local corner McDonald’s to say the least. I thought since we were able to get in without a reservation was great service..not the case. Our drinks took half an hour and I hate to exaggerate but for two bottled beers, a simple mojito, gin and tonic, and three bottles cokes; I can not believe it could take that long. Now, that was just the drink order. Unfortunately, the food did not arrive to our table until an hour and a half later. My husband had to say that we were only going to wait five more minutes until we leave (since there is curfew) in order to “rush” the food. Once we waited six minutes, we were ready to get up and leave and our food was brought. I won’t lie the flavor of food was not bad but probably sitting out for 20 minutes since it arrived cold. The fact that they brought our food as soon as we stood up, shows that it has been sitting out for Lord knows how long. This is my first google review and it’s unfortunate that it has to be such a negative one. I have no idea how they have such a high rating for such a low class service. Perhaps we sat in the wrong place. On the way out we saw three floors of seating, the top floor is at the level of the road. A mezzanine floor is down one flight of stairs and the garden floor is down a second flight of stairs. This is where we sat . The garden floor is a lovely place to sit, surrounded by greenery and looking out over the Cali skyline. Unfortunately the tables and chairs in this garden paradise are ridiculously uncomfortable for anyone taller than 160 cm. So let’s talk about the food. We started with Antojos Vallunos, which was a plate of Cali delicacies. My main course was Raviolis Cuatro Quesos , my wife had Arroz Jambalaya - both were excellent, though the bread shown in the picture of the Ravioli in the menu was not available, it would have been nice for mopping up the cheese sauce. The food was excellent, as were the generous pours of the Copas de Vino Blanco Maipo and the Michelados. Service was incredibly slow, it was difficult to attract attention to place orders, they appeared to be short staffed.
