Tucked away in the charming streets of Cartagena's walled city, Café de la Mañana is a must-visit spot for a delightful experience. We stumbled upon this cozy café during our recent visit and were lucky to snag a seat! The staff at Café de la Mañana were very helpful and accommodating. They patiently pieced together my broken Spanish and even offered English translations at times to ensure I felt comfortable and understood the menu. Their friendly acceptance and willingness to help made us feel at ease, and we appreciated their attention. The food at Café de la Mañana was delicious, with a variety of options to suit even this picky vegetarian. The juices (jugos) were amazing, freshly squeezed, and cold - perfect for hot days exploring the city. The latte was tasty and well-pulled. The café's name, translated as "Morning Coffee" in English, is a fitting tribute to its excellent brews. There are a lot of options in the walled city, but Café de la Mañana is a wonderful and welcome surprise in Cartagena's old town. With its charming atmosphere, helpful staff, and delicious food and drinks it's a must-visit spot for anyone exploring this quaint, beautiful city. Whether you're looking for a quick breakfast, a leisurely lunch, or a relaxing coffee break, Café de la Mañana is the perfect choice. Credit cards accepted. Recommendation: The food is great but don't hesitate to try their juices...
Read moreI really enjoyed my visit here! The atmosphere is cozy and welcoming, and the prices are very reasonable compared to many other places. The staff are incredibly friendly and make you feel at home right away. It’s also nice that they offer free WiFi, which makes it convenient if you’re traveling.
I ordered the classic breakfast, which allows you to choose the style of eggs and type of bread. Before the meal, they brought out a plate of fresh fruit, and it was so refreshing and delicious. The hibiscus tea is served unsweetened, which I actually liked because it tasted very natural. The lemonade was made with real fresh lemons and was so tasty—perfectly refreshing in the warm weather. The best part is that the drinks are only about $2, which is an amazing deal for the quality.
Overall, it’s a great spot for a relaxed and affordable breakfast with friendly service. I would definitely...
Read moreI paid $11 for everything in this pic, including 2 coffees, water, and tip! I ate breakfast here everyday for 5 days. The food was not only great quality and delicious/healthy I could tell it was prepared with love and care. The coffee was easily the best I had in Cartagena and one of the best Ive had in general. The service was amazing, all the servers were smiling, genuinely happy, fast and just had a good authentic vibe. These guys were so cool when I went to pay my bill on my last day here they paid for my coffees - understand how rare that is in this city where literally everyone has their hand out. This place is an oasis in this city, if your here you know this place is wild. I went to all the high end coffee shops, restaurants, with 6k reviews and blah blah blah, none of them lived up the hype or came close...
