MOJITOS RESTAURANT BAR — Restaurant in Medellín

It would be impossible for this restaurant to have so many reviews as it is still quite new so my guess is they are a lot of fakes. We just left and they had 12 employees and only 6 customers. I had to ask 3 times to get my water even though they had no customers. Then after and hour and a half the waitress told us she forgot to put in our order so we just asked for the check. To try to save the situation they gave us two shots. My wife does not drink and the shot was terrible. I did not leave right away because the drink I just received was expensive so I wanted to finish it. After 15 minutes the waitress came as we were ordering from another restaurant and said we will make your food in 10 minutes and give you a discount to say sorry. We waited. We ordered 4 meals but they only bought 3 and said sorry my boss said we could not give you a discount. So they made us wait for food to get more money out of us but offered a dessert which like the shots WE DID NOT WANT. I live in this area there are so many good options that this is and easy do not go! Very sad was hoping for a good experience. I made a mistake coming here.

I sat at the bar but the service was non existent, bartenders just pretended like I didn't exist. They were definitely busy but hard to understand given the restaurant was more than half empty.

After 20 or 30 mins, I would guess a manager? finally came to take my order. Music was so loud, hard to say if anything was really understood, I didn't really care at that point.

For an appetizer, I tried the mini burgers. Nice presentation, little to no flavor, ironically similar to the flavorless margarita.

For my main, I tried the churrasco steak. Not great but definitely better than anything else I had. I can give it credit for being cooked close to a proper medium. Chips were tasty I guess.

Separately, I'm genuinely impressed they manage to screw up something as simple as a margarita.

Update * If my review comes off as a 1 star review, that's what it was going to be before one of the managers, Jessica, spent some time to explain some of the challenges the restaurant had that day. Fair enough. The second margarita was definitely much improved.

Today is Tuesday January 7th, we got here at 4:55pm. We were the only people in the restaurant when we walked in (table of 4). We ordered fairly quickly, by about 5:05pm. It took them 20 minutes to drop off a plate of napkins. 5 minutes later we got our appetizers which were delicious (stuff avocado and some plate with hot dogs chopped up, chicharron, and plantains). It’s now been 45 minutes since we sat down, and we are still waiting for our main meals. Two other tables have been sat since we arrived and neither of them have received any food as of yet. I had read that the service was slow, but holy cow, this is rough. We got our food an hour after sitting down. There are still only 3 tables here. 1 of the tables got up and left before their food arrived. Never coming back here again. The dinner plates arrived and they were disappointing to say the least. The fajitas were highly recommended by the server but they were drowning in sauce and the meat was chewy and overcooked.
