Amor-Acuyá Gelato — Restaurant in Medellín

This was an amazing ice cream shop located in Poblado in Medellin. 🍦 Their signature ice cream flavor is the one named after their shop called “Amor-Acuya” which is based off maracuya (passion fruit) with swirls of chocolate. 😋 The other flavors also looked delicious and were all freshly made.

The ice cream was smooth and just the right temperature. The flavor was a mix of fruit and chocolate which was a perfect unexpected combination. I regret not getting more!

Terrific gelato, friendly service, and a cleanly designed shop that was very busy on a Friday night. I sampled the maracuyá, mora, and salted caramel flavors. All three were terrific and not too sweet (just like I prefer). Amor-Acuyá Gelato has received international attention and it is justifiable.

When crowded, it can be a bit of a tight squeeze in line. Also, many precious little Poblado dogs were loudly barking at one another in the store while their owners were enjoying their gelato.

The best gelato / ice cream I have had since I’ve been in South America! I’m not usually a huge gelato person but this might have changed my mind. It was super creamy and rich in flavor - I wish I had time to go back! I tried the amor Acuya flavor which was super unique (a blend of vanilla ice cream, chocolate pieces, and maracuya), and the Colombian chocolate which was rich and decadent. The hours are strange to me that it closes at 8pm but there is a line just about any time...
