Restaurante Auténtico is a solid 4.6 for the food, but the service by Santiago was amazing; a perfect 5-Stars. We were greeted as soon as we entered, all our questions were answered knowledgeably and excellent recommendations where offered. Santiago asked if we wanted two glasses as we wanted to share a kombucha and also brought us an extra plate and a spoon to split our main course. He also followed back to make sure that were were happy with our food. This type of service and anticipation is only displayed by very, well-trained and intuitive servers. We ordered the Estofado, which we enjoyed. It was beautifully presented, was flavorful and the meat was tender. The dish could have benefited if there were a little more sauce to keep the meat moist. The grilled tomatoes in the estofado were outstanding and bursting with flavor. The delicate mesclun-like salad was outstanding and the turmeric rice with dried fruit (currants) was delicious. Overall, the quality and quantity of food was an excellent value. We also had a bottle of Flor de Jamaica, kombucha that was very good. Overall, we enjoyed our experience dining at one of the outside tables, which their are only two. The inside is small and could benefit from better, lower lighting and a makeover to upgrade the atmosphere. Lastly, the sign for the restaurant is hidden by tree branches and is difficult to see. This is not helpful for first time customers; we had to look for the physical address on the building and ask to verify the location. Again, thank you Santiago for making our...
Read moreI went here on my first night in Medellin, and I will not be going back. I ordered the sobrebarriga and ate some of my friends food as well (the beef sandwich, fideos, and French fries). After dinner my stomach was so messed up. Still a day later I don’t feel good. Also, my friend doesn’t eat red meat because of her religion and when they accidentally brought her the sandwich with beef, they wouldn’t switch it out for the chicken sandwich she originally ordered. There are tons of restaurants in this area, and this is not one...
Read moreThis small eatery packs a punch when it comes to flavor. I tried the chicken and rice platter, and it was nothing short of amazing. The chicken was perfectly cooked—tender, juicy, and bursting with flavor. The combination of rice, beans, and sauces complemented each other beautifully, creating a delightful and satisfying meal.
The only downside was the wait time, which was a bit longer than expected. However, the food was well worth it, and the wait gave me a chance to soak up some sunshine and enjoy the...
