We stumbled upon this hidden gem thanks to a recommendation from some locals we met while strolling down the streets of Medellin, and we couldn't be more grateful.

From the moment we stepped foot inside, we were enveloped in the warm and welcoming embrace of Medellin hospitality. Our quest for an authentic Medellin culinary experience led us to this charming eatery, and we were thrilled to have found it. With their daily specials and delectable food offerings, we couldn't resist returning before bidding farewell to Medellin. It's evident that Magolo's staff takes great care of their customers.

We wholeheartedly recommend this place – it's a true 100% recommendation. The ambiance is laid-back, making it the perfect spot for a leisurely lunch with friends or a relaxed afternoon meal. Don't miss trying their "Jugo de Mora" – it's simply divine. Additionally, they offer a delightful selection of local beers that complement the meal perfectly.

You’ve got young chef Sebastian Yepes making grandmother style food with good quality ingredients with the same delicious comfort-home taste you grew up with. Yes, the concept is familiar and yes there are dozens of cheaper options for typical food or soups or whatever. But what you get at Don Magolo is the same quality and love and affection in every dish that your grandmother made for you as a child but on the place of your actual grandma is a young paisa man who really cares about the food he makes and is insistent that you’ve enjoyed it till the last bite. Restaurante Magolos was close to my hotel and they were always busy so I decided to give them a try.

Decided to try it for dinner around 830 just before closing @9pm.

I ordered some fish and it came with salad and rice. It filled the whole plate! I enjoyed every bite 😋

I ended up returning a second time and getting a steak, rice and soup combo for lunch. The steak had a strong garlic flavor but I love garlic!

The music, service and outdoor patio were all incredible. I will definitely come again 😊 💯
