Balcón Arenal Restaurante y Sport Bar Lazy Twins — Restaurant in La Fortuna

Fantastic bar that we stumbled upon during our first night in La Fortuna! If you're looking for a friendly environment and affordable drinks, THIS IS THE PLACE TO GO! Our bartenders were so kind and helpful/knowledgable with recommendations on what to do in Costa Rica. We did not dine in as we had dinner prior to stumbling upon the place, but from the menu and from what we can see other guest ordering, the food looks and smells amazing. Shout out to our bartenders Frannie(the best one), Alonso (the rico), and Warren (the one with the beautiful eyes), you guys definitely made our time there memorable! We made so many friends that night and will definitely be back! Pura Vida.

Side note: don't forget to checkout the little pop up jewlery table outside the front door, Falin handmakes all the jewlery pieces from stones that he acquired all...

We were so lucky to choose Balcón Arenal on our first night in La Fortuna. The owners are twin brothers, and one is also an adventure tour guide. The staff was incredibly warm and attentive. Jason, our server, brought us two delicious Guaro Sours. Then we ordered a whole tilapia with Caribbean beans and rice, plantains, and salad. 🍽️

It was THE BEST fish we had eaten in our lives (no exaggerating). 👍👍👍👍👍 The chef, Jasmin, should win an award for this meal. It's the kind of thing Anthony Bourdain could have featured on his show (rest in peace).

This place is only two months old, under new ownership. I imagine once people discover how good it is, there will be a line out the door.

I got here with big expectations but unfortunately I got heavily disappointed. O ordered an off menu dish proposed by the waitress: teriyaki tuna, medium rare, and fries. My tuna turned out to be just an overcooked tuna steak with no sesame, no teriyaki sauce, in its place liters of soy sauce and tons of garlic. No french fries at all but mashed potatoes instead. I complained about the fries' absence and managed to get them... unfortunately just a tiny overfried portion...the tuna tasted too salty and burned smoked... The place per se is also quite loud being a sport bar, but we were there with a G adventures group not of our own choice, so... All of if came at the very costly...
