I strongly advise against staying here if you want a stress-free experience. From the moment we arrived, the experience was unsettling. The interactions with the owner and the person who let us in were strange and, at times, aggressive.||The air conditioning didn’t work at all, making the room extremely humid and uncomfortable. Despite clear evidence, both the staff and owner insisted it was functional, even suggesting we might have broken it. Other reviews on different platforms indicate this is a recurring issue. We requested a fan but never received a response.||The bathroom was covered in black mold, and the entire place had a strong, moldy odor that lingered on our belongings even after we left. This is a serious health concern.||Our experience was further spoiled by an interaction late at night when we arrived, exhausted from a delayed flight. Snjezana persistently tried to get us to book a ride back to the airport with someone she knew, despite our repeated requests to discuss it the next day as we were too tired to deal with it immediately. Even after agreeing to take the driver's number, we received more pressure and even threats when we later informed them we would be taking a taxi instead.||To top it off, the owner suggested our 3-year-old should have been counted as an adult, though their website has no child option. This felt like a deflection from the real issues.||Dubrovnik is beautiful, but our experience with this accommodation ruined our visit. I recommend staying outside the city walls, where people are more hospitable and the atmosphere is more relaxing.||Other cons:|No water or drinks offered. We arrived very late at night and the airport stores were closed. Our 3 yo. was thirsty and asking for water while Snjezana kept trying to get us to book a ride back with them. ||Restaurants put out chairs right where the window is, so there are loud noises way past midnight and then again starting at 5 in the morning. ||I am not sure of the cleanliness of the place. I broke out all over my body in hives, though it may have been a combined reaction to the mold or heat. ||Very uncomfortable bed...
Read moreStarting off with the negatives since I’m giving such a low score on an overall 4.9 rating: The person who was supposed to give us keys was over half an hour late. When we called 15 mins in after waiting and she said she was still waiting for the bus. We don’t have enough hot water for shower. They said hot water would come back after 15 mins to half an hour. We waited for 45 mins and it was still not coming back. IMPORTANT: you can’t use water at all while waiting for the water to heat. There was a lot of noise from the street. It’s also close to the clock tower so you’ll hear the hourly ringing of the clock tower which is very annoying at night especially if you’re a light sleeper. We booked our place on booking but the communication was incredibly confusing. On Booking they said there would be a reception but we ended up waiting for the person to open the door for us outside the building. There was no reception or anything like that at all. The owner doesn’t even manage the property himself and the booking number was for the owner instead of the manager of the apartment.
Overall, bc of the waiting in the cold wind and the cold water situation, we unfortunately caught a cold on the first night which ruined the rest of the trip for us. So be warned of all of above.
On a positive note, the manager who eventually opened the door for us was apologetic about being late. But sadly, that’s not enough to...
Read moreI stayed at Muziqa apartment at the beginning of the summer. What a treat! The apartment is located in the historic downtown of Dubrovnik, on a side street near the most famous promenade, Stradun. Since there is no car traffic allowed within the city center, to get there you’ll need to walk a minute or so from the old city gate – where the taxi will drop you off, then walk down the set of stone stairs to reach Prijeko Street. |My favorite time to explore Dubrovnik was early in the morning when the streets were empty - the tourists were still asleep, and the locals were just about to open their businesses. Due to the conveniently located apartment, we were able to come back to the apartment any time we needed to rest, then we’d go out again. |The apartment is well insulated - one would expect lots of noise coming in from the street; however, once you shut the windows, the apartment was very quiet. The AC was quiet, too. |If you want to experience a piece of history, yet have the comfort of today, this is the place to stay. |The historic building is several hundred years old, yet apartments feel very cozy and are tastefully decorated. The original beams are exposed, and the décor is a mixture of modern style with antique details. I felt I was reliving the history. There are several restaurants just minutes of...
