We are staying in Dubrovnik are for week and decided last minute whilst we are here,to book one night inside the old town. We found this place on last minute.com.Booked on the Tuesday for the Thursday night,so it was much cheaper. Really loved it, the quirkiness of the annex where we stayed. Strange set up we first thought! Got key from a little boutique, lovely lovely young girls were so helpful. Took us UpTo our room. There are three rooms in the annex. Definitely not fir anyone with mobility issues. Quite a few steps to climb to get up to it ,from the street. Theres a little room where you enter, first with a keypad number. Then your key and welcome letter are in a basket. Very informal and relaxed! We loved their style. Our room was lovely, quirky loved the style. There is a smell in the bathroom, must be the drains? When bathroom door closed, sliding door, didn't bother us at all and we were hardly in the room anyways. There were toiletries in the bathroom and the towels were lovely. A kettle and coffee sachets aldo &a mini fridge. The location is fantastic! We popped in n out a couple of times as location so good. We purchased a breakfast voucher for ten euros which was definitely worth it. We got up early, fir the city walls walk, then went fir breakfast after that. Lovely bistro place was really good value I thought. We absolutely loved this place , especially at reduced price😊 we left our bags in the annex bit ,can leave them there which is great. Our room was also ready much earlier which was fab. We didn't leave any valuables in our bag and collected it later when we left the old town. I see what people mean about security but only two other rooms have keypad code, plus staff. I recommend,if you like something relaxed and different. We noticed a little noise of the street etc but honestly didn't bother us and...
Read moreI booked an Annex room on Booking.com in Old Town, Dubrovnik. The Old Town is a Unesco site where building changes are not allowed, so be prepared for many stairs. The reviews only warned people with mobility issues to book elsewhere. The B & B instructions I was emailed (breakfast costs extra) directed me to their main building and to enter with a code to check in between 3 p.m. and midnight. Upon my arrival at 6:00 p.m., no one was on site at the main building. We proceeded to the Annex building. I was stunned to see that our room was on the 4th floor with a wide open spiral-type staircase, no railings to hold on to, and no walls to support anyone walking up, let alone when you are carrying luggage. It got worse; the last set of stairs to the 4th floor were not even; they were winding and not full-size stair widths. It was pretty scary to walk up, let alone even consider carrying any suitcases.|I called Dario, the owner, and he said he would send someone to help with the luggage; an hour later, he called back, saying he was not sending anyone (no explanation why). I told him we couldn’t stay here as this was a bad accident waiting to happen and that there was never a picture or a mention of the type of (unsafe) staircase access to the room; he replied that this was the only option. I spoke to Dario again and asked for a refund, saying we could not stay here. He refused. I cancelled my reservation and opened a case with customer service at Booking.com. They contacted Dario and asked for a partial refund (he was able to rent it out to someone else for three of the four nights we had booked), which would be a fair solution. Again, Dario refused. The photos did not show the staircase or the entrance to the room, and his customer service treatment was terrible. Pictures are included below.|My strong advice is Do Not...
Read moreA well run tidy and clean hotel.|Just off the main Stradun, this is a family run business.|Our room was 6A which was well appointed and at the top of three VERY, VERY, STEEP flights of stairs. You will need to be fit to carry your luggage up and down these steps. Infact you'll need to be fit to walk up these insanely steep stairs.|Ivana on front desk was very polite and helpful. Firstly, the front desk is open daily from 9am to 4pm. The hotel is part of a perfume and cosmetics shop. You will need a code to get in after 4pm. Breakfast is NOT included but you can buy vouchers from the front desk at €10 each for breakfast served 60ms away at the "festival bar" And quite a good breakfast at that!||We found the room well decorated, with some lovely touches like the four poster bed, fridge, mini bar and safe.|The beds are comfortable but firm. Other rooms seemed alright but 6A was the best. I personally found it quiet as it's in a small side road. Kuniceva n.4, with hardly any steps from Stradun. We loved it and will return if we ever visit Dubrovnik again.||Dubrovnik is VERY BUSY. Millions of tourists frequent this town each year.|It's NOT cheap either with a G&T between £7.50 and £14.00. Food will set you back €60/€130 with house wine in two per meal. The city walls are the biggest rip off in tourist history at a whopping €35 per person. All you are doing is a one and a half hour walk around the old town. Great views but totally...
