Three of us from our group approached the BB Club around 5pm on a Thursday, and saw that there were customers at a few tables (with comfortable sofa-and-pillow style seating for most of them), and almost all of the others had “reserved” signs. Asking if we could get a quick drink, the waitress led us through what we thought were two other cafes (it was all the same place) and set us up to take our drink orders.
The prices were a little high but normal for around here, given it’s a touristy area. It was a laid back time visiting, with no feeling of being rushed out of the way. The shade and slight breeze off the harbor was pleasant enough, and I liked the drink options we chose (extra fun and tasty additions to them like sliced jalapeños and mango purée or juniper berries and star anise; the blueberry mojitos were large!).
The rest of our group arrived around 7pm or so for their own drinks, and we asked the waitress if she could accommodate all 9 of us for dinner before their reservations arrived (we assumed that most reservations were for the night scene, and we were probably right).
They gave us two tables that were sort of close together but not side-by-side at first. The way the setting sun was lined up blasted us from a lower angle for about 20-30 minutes before it went behind the hill on the other side of the harbor, and their umbrellas weren’t adjustable for a tilt angle.
They had a small bucket of ice at the table, which is not common to other places I’ve seen around this area, and they did not charge for it. Having been to other places in the Mediterranean that automatically bring things like bottled water and bread baskets that they charge for without giving you the option of wanting them, this was a refreshing addition!
The food options we ordered ranged from a very basic ~12-14” Marguerita pizza that didn’t appear to be anything special, to a fancy club sandwich with chips, to my tuna tartare with mango and avocado chunks that was one of the best meals I’ve tasted and would definitely order it again! We also got the jalapeño poppers appetizer with sriracha dip, which is not something I have seen before in the Mediterranean as a menu item. Each appetizer order had enough to split with another person, and they were delicious.
They had a couple temporary problems with the credit card machine during the earlier drinks phase, but it worked again by the time we paid for our meal. They forewarned us that they could not split the bills beyond two per dining table, so some had to pay cash to the restaurant or to the cardholder that paid for half of the table. The waiter we had for dinner was helpful and pleasant.
The boat passenger traffic along the waterfront at the restaurant made the area appear to be busy, although it didn’t affect the calm ambiance in our seating areas.
Considering that much of Croatia is an expensive place that tries to capitalize on every tourist-related aspect they can, I was satisfied with our overall...

Waiter told us that they had no hot drinks other than coffee (we wanted green tea), and told us that we were sat at a table for 5 people and could we move to a table for 2 (even though it was not reserved), but one of the seats was in the sun which we weren’t keen on, I thanked him and said we would leave, he then said he would check with the kitchen about the hot drinks.
He came back and said they could serve the hot drinks but was again insistent that we move to a table for 2 (he moved both chairs to the shade).
When the green tea came it was served with honey and lemon, so a nice touch.
Also it was seat cover washing day so most seats were just the foam cushions with no covers - good to know that they clean them.
All in all, not the best experience but the guy was just doing his job and had (presumably) been given direction by management.
Plenty of better places off the beaten track. We had lunch earlier in the day at Fig cafe and it was exceptional - no sea views but the foot and service...
Read moreHvar....Hvar...what a place. It caters for yacht going millionaires but sometimes normal folk travel here (like us) as well.
bb club is sat amongst a number of other restaurants on the strip looking onto the harbour. So let's jump into it....
Pros Great location looking onto the harbour and onto the Hvar fortress. Great atmosphere with the bustle of visitors toing and froing (at a comfortable distance) with upbeat favourites playing in the background. Exciting drinks options. I tried the blueberry mohito for the first time. Delicious. Varied choose for food. I chose the soft shell crab burger - brioche bun, soft shell crab with crispy dipping shaped chips. So epic. My fiance had the beyond meat option. By far, the best vegan burger we've tasted. Top marks. Friendly staff who were attentive. The food came quickly.
Not so pros....not a lot here!: -The music repeated a few times. Which we picked up on. literally nothing else.
A solid option for a non pretentious but epic...
