Hajduk Ice Creams — Restaurant in Grad Split

I'm truly disappointed to write this review as I was very excited to try the ice cream at this place, especially the pistachio, which I consider a benchmark for quality. If a shop does pistachio well, it usually indicates a high standard across all their flavours. Unfortunately, the pistachio ice cream tasted more like a blend of chocolate, cream and artificially synthesized pistachio essence, lacking any real pistachio flavour.

More troubling was the staff's response to my sampling request. After a small taste of the pistachio ice cream, one of the staff sarcastically questioned, "Have you already tried every ice cream store in the town?" This question, delivered in a clearly mocking tone, implied that I was there only to taste free ice cream without intending to buy anything. When I tried to explain my method of trying ice cream as a harmless practice used in many countries, I was rudely dismissed and asked to leave. This left me feeling uncomfortable and, frankly, unwelcome, as if my appearance had influenced his judgment. As an Asian, I couldn't help but feel that his response might have been racially motivated.

I understand cultural differences might affect store policies on sampling, and I would have gladly respected a straightforward policy against sampling if it were clearly communicated. A nasty reaction to a polite request is never acceptable. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this store based on both the product and the poor service. A disappointing...

Nasty, beyond abysmally nasty, dark haired man. I wanted to buy three scoops. I nicely asked the man if I could try two different flavours. I walked in with my 12 year old son who was looking for a coffee like flavour, asked to try before deciding which ice cream to choose and not only was this not possible, which would be ok if that’s their policy, but I was asked to leave the store with my son.
