Brilliant & very clean hotel, great location and great food!
We stayed at the Gaia Sun N Blue Hotel in Ayia Napa during the May half term break and we were delighted with the hotel. Owned by Petros, who was always around and welcoming and two of his sons, who work tirelessly in the hotel. The hotel is only a few years old and is very well cared for. Having arrived late, we arrived into the hotel and were greeted and shown to our room where some sandwiches, fruit & water awaited. From arrival we were delighted with how clean the hotel looked and smelled and this remained the same throughout our week stay. The staff were accommodating and friendly. The room itself was very nice, everything worked, English plug sockets in the room and it was really clean. Free to use safe in the room as well as free ac and a fridge. Beds were made every day, as well as bins emptied & drinking water replaced. The windows were very good, it is a little walk from the centre of Aiya Napa which has many restaurants, bars etc and you couldn’t hear this in the room with the door closed. Great location for anyone wanting to go into town at night and only a short walk to the beach that was very nice and with reasonably priced sunbeds at 5 Euros for the day for 2 sunbeds or 7.50 Euros with an umbrella. Beach was very clean and the water was lovely and clear. Other beaches nearby like Nissi we heard were lovely but we didn’t make it to them in our week. Our son, 10, loved playing in the pool regularly, which was well maintained and had no problems with during our week. There is a small pool for toddlers there as well. Pool bar had a variety of well-priced drinks and friendly bar staff. Never a problem getting a sunbed around the pool and no towel-reserving / hogging going on or required here. Now onto the biggest selling point in our opinion, the food! Breakfast was served from 7AM to 10AM each morning & had a brilliant selection! Every day always a variety of hot and cold foods, cereals, toasts, breads and rolls, fresh fruits & salads, and they would cook you fried eggs or omelettes fresh at your request. There was a good selection of food available for lunch, ordered from the pool bar but we were mainly so full from the breakfast that we didn’t need to bother! The evening meal (we stayed half board and it was definitely worth it) was served from 7pm & had a different theme each night, we were never disappointed with the variety or the quality of the food. The serving areas were regularly monitored, kept clean and topped up, there was always someone around to assist you. We can honestly say this was the nicest and cleanest hotel we have stayed at and we will definitely return. Thank you Petros and to your very hard working team, we look forward to seeing you again, and its a shame that we can only give you 5 stars as you...
Read moreDisappointing to have to write a one star review but really focuses on the arrogant and negative attitude of a particular person on front desk and various issues below which were never resolved.||Wish to state hotel is in a lovely location and rooms are good , nice breakfast , polite breakfast staff , nice pool , ironing room and indoor pool.||The above said, don't ever book an inland room. Inland in my eyes suggests of other hotels or hills or whatever is behind the hotel. No this is ground floor and points towards the side of another building and a car park so that's all you can see from the balcony.||Next the TV was broke and this was mentioned when we arrived and still not fixed the day we are leaving , blaming on a bank holiday ? Surely that doesn't bring all to a stand still.||Next the patio door noting we are on ground floor wasn't locking right and whilst maintenence showed how you could lock , the cleaner on 2 out of the 7 days failed to lock so someone could of easily broken in.||Next the bathroom had an aroma of sewers , thankfully we brought an air freshener which helped offset.||On day of departure to try and mitigate the above , we asked if they would give us extended check out and lady on reception said no .... after stating all of the above she honestly said "you get what you pay for" that is such a negative attitude and a driver of bad customer service which leaves a very sour taste in your mouth.||We have stayed in 2 star self catering to 5 star hotel resorts , it doesn't matter where you stay, you still expect common courtesy and an acceptance if something is wrong and a simple apology. This person and I won't quite names but for purpose of hotel management we checked in late Sunday 8th June and spoke again to same person again this morning Sunday 15th June.||This is such a shame because the hotel does have many positives and if you have booked a high floor , I am sure you will have a good holiday but anyone who ends up with a basement or ground floor room you have been forewarned.||Many thanks for taking the time to read...
