Food was OK, pizza needs improvement but wasnt bad…I would give the pizza a second chance but I would definitely order a pizza for take away and not to have it at the restaurant.
The service was disappointing. We were waiting for about ~25 mins to order. When the waiter finally came to take the order and while we were ordering he told us “I will be back in 2 minutes” and he disappeared which was not nice and not professional at all.
After we finished eating and we were done with the food, time was passing and they did not even bother to come and clean up the table and ask us if we would like to have a dessert. After ~40 mins we called one of the people working there (the reservations guy) to tell him if we can order dessert and if someone can please clean the table. He said his colleague is coming to take the order. When I expressed to the waiter (the Italian guy) that the service was quite disappointing he asked why and we explained, he clearly apologised and felt sorry. I said I understand its a Saturday night and you are busy but we were the first table next to the till and next to the kitchen and we were ignored all the time. Meanwhile, the two Greek/Cypriot guys that work there came over too and one of them even said “be quiet so the other tables do not need to listen to you” - Seriously? This is rude and unprofessional from your side, I am a customer and I am allowed to express my opinion and yes I was expecting a better hospitality and not to be told off for saying the truth. Both of them were arguing between them, discussing quite loud “you do this, you go to table #, you do that, tell xyz person to go to table #” etc and we could clearly hear these conversations while eating, talking etc - clear indication that the management of the restaurant was weak and not existent. When I even mentioned you are arguing while others are enjoying their food and they can hear you, they were like “we are just loud”. They did not even apologise for the service or anything in theory they thought we were wrong. I assume one of the guys was also the manager of the restaurant.
Just because others might not raised any concerns about the service does not mean you should ignore your customers that do raise this concern. It would be good next time if someone mentions anything negative you listen to them and if needed to apologise and try to convince them that this was a one off case and wont happen again.
Please improve your service and dont be rude to your...
Read moreVisited Crostra Nostra last night, on Valentines Day. First of all, when I called to make a reservation, they told me that they have availability only outside, but its closed around and has heaters. When we arrived, we saw that it had heaters, but it wasn't closed around, and it was freezing outside. To the good part, they had blankets, and my girlfriend placed one on her feet. Moving on, we got the menus as well as two red macarons as a gift for the day. and waited for at least 15 minutes until they noticed us. We ordered one numero due pizza (€19) (it was unbelievably good, top quality of the ingredients, tasted so fresh and the dough was red, I dont know if it was a special thing for Valentine's day), one carbonara autentica (€15) (this is how they call it and its a shame, one of most decent and not authentic carbonaras I've ever tried), and I've tried a lot, especially when I was in Rome, I ate more than 10 carbonaras from different places. Guanchale, it was just a thin, almost boiled bacon, not even crunchy as the original carbonara, and I couldnt taste the egg yolks. It was just a dry sauce with parmesan. Also, there were no signs of pepper on top of pasta (not even on our table, lol). We also ordered 2 glasses of Moscato bubble wine (€8 each). After 30+ minutes, the pizza came first, I reminded them about the wine, and they told me its coming. We finished with the pizza, the carbonara arrived, we started eating it, and then they brought us the wine. I've been to many restaurants that were crowded even on New Years Eve, but they never forgot the drinks, but they always brought them 2 minutes after ordering, in contrast with Crosta Nostra which it wasn't even full but took 45+ minutes. I also want to mention, how can you be an Italian restaurant and not offer a spoon for your pasta? That's some basic stuff to enhance your customer's experience. Anyways, moving on to the dessert, tiramisu (€9), which it was really good. Overall, the food was decent and a bit pricey, and service (except the two guys that speak italian and they are very welcoming and helpful) needs a lot of improvement-as well as carbonara for sure. (sorry for forgetting to take a...
Read moreHaving been to Italy, I can confidently say that Crosta Nostra delivers an authentic Italian dining experience. From the moment you step in, the warm and cozy ambiance, reminiscent of an Italian trattoria, sets the tone for a delightful meal. The staff, true to their Italian temperament, are incredibly welcoming and add to the overall charm of the place.
Starters: We began with the Parmigiana di Melanzane, which was a standout. The perfectly cooked aubergines paired with a rich and flavorful marinara sauce made for a satisfying and generously portioned dish. Additionally, the Margherita pizza was impeccable, boasting a thin, chewy crust with just the right balance of cheese and sauce—a true testament to authentic Italian pizza-making.
Mains: For our main courses, the Gnocchi Alla Norma was the undeniable star. The gnocchi had an ideal chewy texture, and the combination of sweet tomato sauce, eggplant, and ricotta salata cheese made every bite unforgettable.
The Tagliatelle Tartufo was another highlight, featuring fresh, in-house-made pasta cooked al dente. The truffle sauce and shavings were well-balanced, delivering a subtle, aromatic flavor without being overpowering.
The only slight letdown was the Carbonara. While undeniably authentic, the smoked flavor of the guanciale didn’t align with my personal preferences, as I’m not a fan of smoked ingredients. That said, the sauce had the perfect creamy consistency, and the pasta was cooked flawlessly.
Unfortunately we were full as the portions were bigger than i thought and didn’t have space for dessert.
Overall Experience: Crosta Nostra has clearly improved since my previous visit, which left me less satisfied. This time, every aspect of the experience felt elevated. The authentic food, cozy environment, and friendly Italian staff create a dining experience that feels like a small escape to Italy. Only downside is that the prices are a bit high.
I’m thrilled I gave this restaurant another chance and look forward to returning to explore more of their menu. Crosta Nostra is a must-visit for anyone craving genuine Italian...
