REPLY: No we did not order the same drinks (obviously because the first lot were not great) No it was NOT just one lock on the toilets. We loved the view and vibe of the bar THAT’S why we wanted to like it so bad but if you want to reply and LIE on a customer’s feedback then that says EVERYTHING about you as “business owners” Regarding the prices, they are very clearly publicly accessible so not comment there is necessary. You are a disgrace of a business owner if you think this is how bad customer experiences are addressed both at the time and online. My point is proven. Absolutely shocking. I cannot even believe that what could have been an amazing night was ruined by the bar’s stingy excuse of a drink and lack of professionalism! Please bare in mind that every drink costs 10-11 euros each (with some exceptions of cocktails for 8-9) That being said, it’s disgusting that you think you can get away with charging extortionate London style prices for watered down juice.
Everyone else around us was sipping their one little drink the whole time as clearly the price was expensive but our table of drinkers was not impressed, we were already on round 2 of drinks quite quickly as the drinks were small but what is terrible is the measure of alcohol.
We could not even taste or smell the alcohol in our drinks and to be honest they were just not well made. They look very good on the menu but in person they’re just very monotone drinks with the smallest amount of alcohol possible.
That being said, after our second round we had commented on the lack of alcohol, after 4 drinks of barely tasting or feeling alcohol we had gotten fed up and informed the waiter who then informed the bar manager. The bar manager then just sent the waiter back to tell us “This is our recipe, I could take the drinks and add a bit more alcohol but will have to charge you for it”
If I need to pay you €20 a drink in order for it to even start tasting like a drink then you should realise that your bar is doing something wrong somewhere yes? It’s such a shame.
They would clearly rather have the same 10 people sip on one drink all night instead of make proper drinks for the big spenders to enjoy and indulge. What a let down.
Also to add, this is on the rooftop of a community style building in the back of Larnaca, the first two floors are like an abandoned community museum with some random food place beginning to be put into it, the toilets are literally either just being built or have been abandoned for ages, the water barely runs and none of the toilets have locks on them.
So to conclude, you have to sell a kidney to come drink here if you plan on just about getting a buzz and then when you need the toilet after all that you have to go down a floor, go through the abandoned museum and go to the toilets where the doors do not even close (not just lock but also CLOSE) and just hope nobody else comes in at the same time while your door is wide open. Then you can try to regain your dignity and go back to acting as if you’re enjoying your time after the toilet violation and the blatant robbery for a drink...
Read moreService We arrived late on a Monday evening. There were only a couple of tables with people. We asked to sit in a small table and add additional chairs so that we can see the view of the market, but apparently it wasn't possible. So we just sat in the middle of the space. There was no fan in that area, so we had to ask them to point a fan in our direction.
View The view is average. You can only see the new square if you sit in one of the three tables with a view.
Drinks We ordered some cocktails. There was no physical menu (just QR code that wouldn't scan properly with low lighting). The cocktail Italian stallion was not great; it was like drinking syrup. The rest of the cocktails were good.
Food I am from Cyprus and I was showing some friends from abroad around. I was embarrassed. The nachos were just plain nachos with a tiny point of sour cream in a plastic container. It was like they just served them from the bag. The chicken strips were decent, even though they did not have any sauce. The chips were also disappointing, which is really sad given the fact Cyprus is famous for its potatoes. Also they charge for the ketchup! What has happened to Cyprus? The island of hospitality and big portions of food is charging for tasteless nachos...
Read moreWe recently made a reservation to have friends and family together to celebrate my 30th birthday. On the night, the Cuckoo team looked after our every need, coming round every few minutes to take drinks orders and making sure everything was as it should be. Although the place was packed, the staff was able to maintain composure, remaining pleasant and ever available! Nothing was ever too much trouble for them considering we were a fairly large group. As a host I was able to spend my time with my honorable guests and this was only possible because Artemis and his team made sure the rest was taken care of!
We had the most fantastic night! With its wicked atmosphere, service and a vibe that always just gets better and better as the night goes on, you just could not want for more! Could not recommend it highly enough, as we have done to all our friends who now share the same opinion!
All in all a memorable experience and something myself, family and friends will remember for a long time. Thank you to all the staff at Cuckoo and especially to Artemis for such a perfect and memorable birthday - it could not have been...
