Unfortunately we had a racist encounter with one of the waiters.

First of all, the place is well located within the old town of lefkosa. As we arrived we were welcomed and placed. The menu has many different options for breakfast, food and several hot and cold drinks. As we ordered a breakfast for three persons and were waiting for it, the waiter asked us to sit at a bigger table. Once we sat down he asked us where we were from. After we answered the question the waiter asked one of us if he could ask another question. A very racist question suggesting that people of a certain ethnicity are always dirty and why it was this way followed after that. We told the waiter, that his question was racist but he didn’t see his racism and continued to bring up more and more racist ideas and believes which made us extremely uncomfortable and crossed several boundaries…to the point where we got up and left the place without eating or drinking anything. Therefore I cannot make any statement about the quality of the food and drinks in this place. However I do not recommend this place to any international customers. It is not a safe space to any marginalized group. The waiter was extremely insensitive and crossed the boundary between customers and waiters. His statements were offending and hurtful and destroyed our whole...

The tables in the sun looked good & we were hungry, so we decided to go here. The menu claims to have a few vegan options, vegan fettuccini amongst others, which I ordered. The ingredients on menu said there was parmesan in the dish, and I asked the waiter if it was vegan parmesan, to what he answered that it’s not. So I told him to simply leave it out, because I am vegan. He told me that’s okay, he will tell the chef to leave it out.

The waiting time for all the other food that was ordered at the table was pretty good, but then my pasta arrived and it had cream and parmesan in it. I brought it back to the waitress who told me they were gonna make me another one without creme and cheese. So in the end, after waiting for 40 min I got penne with peas and carrots and I paid 9€ for it.

Clearly the menu and the staff can not distinguish between vegan (without any kind of animal produce) and vegetarian (without meat) which made ordering hard, so sadly I would not...

Terrible experience at david people. Starting from the staff that took ages to memorize our order instead of writing it down to the food that was extremely bad. We ordered chicken tender sandwich and halloumi cheese rolls the cheese was rotten and out of date and the bun and chicken in the sandwich couldn’t be any older. When we first sat we asked the waiter if there is shisha which was our only reason why we chose this place, so they responded with yes, then after we ordered and aet dinner we ordered the shisha and they responded with oh sorry the shisha guy is not even here today which is a bit deceiving considering that we asked them from the first place.

When we faced the waiter with it he said don’t take it personally.

Not recommended for dining maybe just coffee and drinks and shisha...
