ย ย ย Read moreIn short... worth the visit, they handle themselves well with an extremely busy restaurant. Great food and if you like cocktails, great too (see my note about cocktail menu)
We were greeted relatively warmly, it was a very busy evening and we were seated in minutes.
The general look and appeal combined with good air con in the inside eating areas were all highly polished and the restaurant presented itself well.
I will make a point that despite its up market appearance, there were a lot of families with children of all ages here. PLEASE NOTE, this restaurant is upstairs and I did not see a lift, do bare this in mind when deciding to eat here.
Service was efficient for the most part, but this was held together by a strong floor manager who kept things moving and always checked in with us and took ownership when required. I will note, some of the customer service will not be to everyone's taste, it can come across as curt or a little too direct but didn't affect our experience overall. We enjoyed the light hearted service with a hint of fun and comedy when things didn't go smoothly (our 4 drinks we ordered to beat the queues took a while) but this was made up with free desert and a โฌ6 discount.
THE COCKTAILS BIT... the drinks menu had a selection of cocktails which were excellent but we were also given a menu for the sushi offering which had approximately another 10 cocktails available. A tad odd that they were spread across the two menus but this didn't make them any less excellent.
THE FOOD BIT... We enjoyed all the dishes we are on our visit. We enjoyed the duck and prawns to start with the duck in garlic sauce and the crispy beef, both of excellent quality.
Overall, a very enjoyable evening which allowed us to relax and get the most out...
ย ย ย Read moreSolid experience at Imperial. Service was attentive - quick greating and seating, check to ensure we were happy with the table and room option, constant flow of staff in and around the dining room, personable and friendly, more of a fine dining service and atmosphere.
Ordered preset menus plus Peking Duck to share to keep it simple. Incl shrimp crackers, bbq ribs, chow mein, fried rice, sauteed beef, lemon chicken, sauteed veg (other options available depending on group size). Food quality was clean and flavoured for the masses. Portion sizes were great for our table who enjoys trying a few bites of every dish. We were full, but not Meze-style bursting at the seams. Empty plates were cleared promptly. Plates are kept warm by placing them on top of candle stands in the center of the table. A la carte menu has a very big selection so there will be something for everyone.
Near the end of our meal the restaurant was packed with a line-up of 5 groups in the waiting area around 9pm on Saturday night in November and rightfully so. Mix of all kinds of tourists and locals.
With it being so busy, we mostly topped up our own wine and water glasses between us. While asking for the check we were offered coffee/tea which was appreciated, but declined.
Would have liked a hot sauce or oil spicier than what we were offered as their spiciest.
Will go back for our Chinese...
