Service was a bit slow, but they were busier than what I’ve seen before. Our server was friendly as was the young man who was assisting with bringing out food and drinks. Both kindly spoke English for us.
I had the pork chop with sweet potato fries. My chop was a little bland and dry but the sauce helped that. I LOVED THE FRIES. Whatever they season them with was very tasty. The fries were the kind of savory that perfectly complimented the sweetness of the potato. I only wish they would serve them separately so they don’t get soggy from the sauce on the plate. I will definitely ask for the fries as a side or as a beer snack in the future.
My husband really likes the burger but it falls apart easily and was a mess to eat. Perhaps if served on a different roll it would be easier to manage. Next time we’ll ask if that is an option.
All in all, this is our favorite pub in this area of the city. The food is always good and the service friendly in spite of our not...
Read moreWe go to SRDCOVKA with our whole family quite often and it never happened, but last time our foreign friends went there with us. And this is what happened. Our foreign friend asked for a menu and tried to order something from the waiter, the waiter in turn did not help him much, so we helped him and told him that we did not need a menu in English, later we ordered everything in Czech. But at the end, when the bill came, we were surprised to see where the 10% service charge came from, it had never happened before. We asked the waiter and he ran for a red menu "for foreigners" in which it is really written, but we ordered from the black one. In general, I advise everyone, but most importantly foreign tourists to pay attention to what menu they give them. Because if you are given a red menu "for foreigners", at the end you will be charged more by 10% for service. There is no such thing in the black menu "for locals". Otherwise, the menus differ only in language: Czech, English. The manager answered our questions that it is more difficult for waiters to serve foreign guests, but we did not notice that the waiters somehow tried hard to serve them. In my opinion, this is discrimination and not very legitimate, that on the basis of nationality determines how much you pay.
Read moreIt was one of our places in the city till yesterday’s evening. We used to visit this restaurant so often and always recommended it to our place. Yesterday we celebrated our special date and ordered some food we already tried not just once - pickled Camembert, homemade potato pancakes, salad, and some beverages. These homemade potato pancakes were the best ones previously, but not yesterday. They we black like burnt down - interesting that neither cook nor waitress hasn’t noticed that. Besides that, they had unpleasant taste - the taste of old over fried oil and fish. We informed the waitress that potatoes pancakes weren’t good, she brought the rest away but they didn’t do anything to fix the situation! Absolutely nothing. It was the most unpleasant thing. FYI, waitresses move around with long,...
